Chapter 1

It was snowing outside and little Sophie was staring out he front window in awe. She watched the white flakes touch the ground and soon there were blankets of snow all down her street. Her bright green eyes were wide with excitement. Her jet black curls bounced as she jumped up and down in anticipation wile saying, "Hurry up, Daddy. I want to go in da snow! Today! Hurry!"

Her father chuckled, "Well if you quit bouncing around like a hyped up bunny, then maybe I can get this jacket on you." He tried to put it on her but she squirmed out of his grip and resumed her jumping.

"But I wont be cold! Grandpa blessed me! I wont get cold. Snow is water! That's what mommy says!"

"Mom also said she would kill me if I didn't put you in this jacket." He finally caught her and zipped the jacket shut. She pouted and reached for the zipper. She started pulling, "If you unzip that, no candy for a week." She grumbled and zipped the jacket back up. Her father smirked.

They both walked to the door and went outside. They played around in the snow. They made hundreds of perfect snow balls. The ground was almost snow free. "Stay here while I go get your mother."

"Ok, daddy." He walked inside and found his wife cooking dinner. Her blond curls were up in a ponytail. She had her stormy grey eyes focused on her bacon, cooking. He came up behind her and hugged her from behind. She jumped a little bit then sighed when she figured out who had grabbed her. She smiled and turned around. She faced her husband and kissed him lightly on the lips. He smiled and whispered in her ear, "We've got a surprise for you in the front."

"Really?" She smiled and let him lead her outside. She instantly saw the mountain of snow balls and knew what was coming.

"Now!" Percy yelled. He was standing a little bit further away from his wife now, out of reach. Hundreds of balls of snow flew through the air like raining arrows of war and landed on…Percy. Percy jumped out of the mountain of snow, freezing cold and dry. Annabeth and her daughter were rolling on the ground laughing hysterically.

"I" laugh "Loved" laugh "m-my" laugh "sur-prise!" She could barely breath she was laughing so hard. Finally in the middle of her laughing fit, Percy got an idea. He picked her up from the ground and threw her into the pile of snow that had launched itself at him. She screamed as she came in contact with the cold snow. Sophie squealed happily as she saw her parents playing around like little kids again. She ran and jumped into the snow, too.

Soon the family was inside the war, welcoming house. They sat by the fire drinking hot coco and eating their breakfast. Sophie looked at her family. Her mom was leaning against her father smiling happily up at him and he gave her a kiss. Sophie happily said with a big toothy smile, "This was the best Christmas Eve ever!"
