For those of you who don't know what a big bang is, it's when a number of people write stories for a certain fandom about a certain theme or character or pairing and post it on the same day. I was discussing this with a friend today and, because of my Twitter obsession, I'd like to host a Malijah (Daddy 'Lijah is also acceptable) big bang. For those of you who don't know what Malijah is, I'll explain it later. For this particular big bang, all stories must be one- or two-shots consisting of 2000 words (for one-shots) or 5000 words (for two-shots) minimum and be completed by (DO NOT POST UNTIL) March 31st.

There's a huge long Malijah backstory that I could go into (or you can ask NomadMikaelson and ExquisiteElenaG on Twitter), but I will touch on the highlights. Elijah met Mary Wittenheart in 1167 in a small village in France. He turned her out of love (forming a sire bond, not necessarily important, but it can be mentioned) and, in 1837, Giuseppe Salvatore, presented her with the option to take the cure. Mary, having always wanted children, accepted and then married Giuseppe. In 1840, Mary and Elijah had an affair (I like to believe it's the "Elijah affair" Kol is referring to in 3x19, but that's highly unlikely) and Mary became pregnant with Damon. When Giuseppe discovered that Damon was not his true son, Mary was already pregnant with Stefan. On the day of Stefan's birth, Giuseppe 'over-honeyed' her tea (with poison, not drugs), and Rose and Trevor were the ones to deliver the news to Elijah that she was dead.
Daddy 'Lijah (as mentioned before) is very similar to Malijah. It's basically fatherly/son-ly moments between Elijah and Damon.
