I woke up yawning, rolling out of bed to grab a cup of coffee. I'd stayed up late last night, adding more chapters to my book. I hadn't been able to write yesterday, because I'd felt as though something was wrong. I felt like there was something going on. Usually, it meant Percy was in danger. But I pushed it aside. Percy had just left school to Half-Blood Hill. Chiron had called a week ago to say that Percy had arrived and was well.

However, this morning, I felt like there definitely was something wrong. Definitely. But Chiron hadn't called yet. No one had. It had been silence for two days, which was a little long for Percy, as he usually called to tell how the camp had changed. "What's wrong?" I whispered.

As if to answer my prayers, the phone rang. Almost immediately. It was like the gods had intervened. Or the Fates. I was never quite sure which of them would control stuff like that. I picked up the phone. "Hello?" I asked.

"Hi Sally," I heard Annabeth's voice on the other end. I immediately stiffened. Annabeth never called unless something was wrong. I knew from experience.

"Yes?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper. "Is something the matter?"

Annabeth hesitated, and my stomach tightened. It was true then. "What is it?" I asked urgently. "Is Percy hurt? Is he okay? Did he-" I didn't have the guts to finish the sentence.

"He's-gone," Annabeth said, her voice cracking as she said gone.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN GONE?" I shrieked.

In the other room, I heard a thump and a, "Sally?" coming from Paul. I covered my mouth. "Is he dead?" I managed to force out.

"No, he's not dead. He's disappeared," Annabeth said, her voice enough to convince me this was no run of the mill reappear in a day or two thing. This was serious. "No one has found him yet. No one knows where he is. We've tried contacting Iris, we've tried Rachel, and nothing. The gods haven't replied either. They've shut themselves away from our lives. They don't talk to us, they don't answer our prayers, nothing. They've gone completely silent. They went silent right before Percy disappeared."

I could tell this story was a huge effort on Annabeth, and she sounded like she'd nearly broken out crying at the end. I felt a weight settle in my heart. Percy and Annabeth had been going out for a year, and they'd been friends for years and years. Percy only trusted a select few number of people, and I knew Annabeth was the same.

I'd hoped that after the war, Percy's life would become near normal. Obviously, the Fates had different plans for him. I had been a fool to think that his life would be peaceful.

"What are you guys going to do?" I asked, trying to keep my voice calm and level.

"We-we're going to search for him. I've contacted Grover, Tyson, Nico, everyone's looking. I contacted you to let you know not to worry." I could hear Annabeth. I knew she didn't believe that we didn't have to worry. "Bye Sally, we'll find your son," she whispered, before hanging up.

Which left me sitting in a room by myself, wondering what on earth had happened. "What have you done to him?" I whispered, sitting down on the kitchen chair. "Where is he?"

A/N: I realized while reading The Lost Hero that Sally was NEVER mentioned! D= So I immediately had to write a fanfiction about her reaction. What'd you think about it? Well I thought THE LOST HERO WAS EPIC! Sorry if I spoiled it for you, but you'd think the top would be a bit of a warning...xD Leave me a review...lots of love-Catherine
