ALERT! This is the sequel to "The Sandman's Mirage". Please read that one first. Arigato.

A/N: This is the sequel to my first one shot, "The Sandman's Mirage". I wrote it a long time ago and recently found it on a piece of paper... I transfered it to Microsoft word. I hope its to your liking. (:

After the Mirage

The hot sand between my toes

Feels like nothing compared to

The beating sun upon my unprotected back

A few miles to walk on bare feet alone

Feels like nothing compared to

The thought of being distanced from you,

Such as I am

My body is tan, my beaded sweat pouring

Like deluge after flood gates of Wave

Swallowing me whole and whisking me away

To a place even farther from my goal; you

Hermes's winged sandals aid me in my pursuit

And a kind desert fox going in the same direction

Beat faster heart, guide me to him, and point me to his exact location

With the shifting sand beneath my feet, my heart is roaring

I've discovered that mirages only leave me grieving

And casts me in a desolate existence that is not of you

Driven mad by hallucinations I find myself believing

How will I know when it is really you?

Dear Sandman, my tears of anguish mix with my agonized sweat

Drip, drip, dripping lightly on my heated flesh

And how the desert laughs at me when I fall for its quips!

Yet I have a salty taste of determination upon my dry, crackled lips

My tongue's healing salve no longer has affect upon what is blistered

Was it you that saved me from the desert's evil coiling twister?

Sandman, my mind is a fragile thing but my spirit is not feeble

It stands strong against the sand in protest, coming to my defense

My heart's concrete will outlives what my body's strength and endurance gives

Oh but give me a word or two and my heart would stop its persistent beat for you

Or perhaps your word would silence me on the subject forevermore?

If only, if only you'd give me some sort of word and torture me no more

Where are you, dear Sandman?

Do I journey in vain?

No, no, no, there is a purpose for my calling

For when I reach that calling

Embrace me so, Sandman

And don't let me give way

A/N: I hope you guys liked this sequel. Review and tell me if you liked it or if you'd like to see more done with this. (:

ARIGATO!
