Maka swayed her hips to the rhythm from the next room. Soul was playing piano again. It sounded different this time, she noted. Instead of the usual haunting melodies, it sounded like light-hearted jazz. In fact, that was what it was. Soul was indulging in jazz piano. She smiled to herself, walking to the other room. Soul was just finishing up a riff, and ended his little piece with a flourished chord, punctuating it with a "Yeah!". Maka giggled.
"That's how the cool cats of jazz do it, babeh." He smirked, snapping with both hands in time. Maka imitated his motion, swaying over to the piano bench. Soul rose from the bench with a slinking motion, snapping one hand off to the side. They approached each other in this manner, slinking along like the 'cool cats of jazz'. Maka continued to giggle. Soul smirked in amusement. They were circling each other, still snapping, until Soul took her hand and spun her out, drawing her in afterwards. He held her back to his chest. "And now…" he said in a low dramatic voice. "GG Albarn and Smooth Cat Soul will dance… The Tango!"
Maka laughed as they trotted sideways across the rug, Soul humming a little tango tune. He dipped her down, pulling her back up dramatically. She played along, snapping her leg up at the knee and raising it to his hip. Soul grabbed it gently and made a little sound effect for their pose. "Cha!" They laughed together this time. He released her gently, still chuckling.
"We could have an act!" Maka joked.
"Nah." Soul replied. "I should be the only one to see you dance like that."
She laughed in reply, to stifle her mild embarrassment. "Care to waltz?" he said, sweeping his torso and arm down in a grand bow. She took his upturned palm gently, and curtsied. He smiled.
