A/N: My first GG fanfic. I hope you guys enjoy!
He's not perfect. And he's lost count of how many times he's apologized to her for it. She deserved someone who was actually worthy of her love. She needed somebody that knew which fork to use at different courses, somebody that could get her into the biggest parties, someone who could give her expensive things. Spoil her the way she ought to be. She deserved a prince from the UES but instead she's had to settle for the jester from the unspeakable part of New York.
She swears that she doesn't care about money. Becuase he's changed her and all the material things she practically worshipped are gone. She tells him that if she thought any different she wouldn't be dating him after everything she lost. He tells her about all the things that he can never give her, but she prefers to think of the things he can.
"I can't give you anything." He informed her
"You've given me everything." She argued
"No I haven't. I'm your rebellious stage. And one I hope you grow out of shortly." He sighed
"My rebellious stage? My entire life has been a rebellious stage. Your the reason I grew out of it." She attempted, reaching for his hand as he pulled it away
"Your right. I am the reason. I'm the reason you lost it all. You lost your friends, your place in society, and your family. Because of me. I'm poison and the sooner you figure it out the better." He told her walking toward the window in his room, praying she would get the hint and leave
"Well if your poison." She began, as she walked over to him and came to stand behind him, "I'll drink every drop."
He turned around shocked at what she had just said. She had turned her back on everyone...rather they had turned their backs on her when she refused to give him up. 8 months together and he had never said those three words. They were always on the tip of his tongue, but he never let them escape. He was waiting for her to leave but the look in her eyes said she'd never go.
"I love you." He blurted out
"What?" She asked confused by his admission
"I love you. I can't think of a better way to say it. Except for I love you. Simple and honest just like me." He blushed rambling until she brought her hand up over his mouth and laid it gently on his lips
"I love you too." She smiled, "And you said it perfectly."
"Can I ask you something?" He questioned taking her hands in his
"Of course" She replied
"Will you reach me Cedric?" He requested making her giggle at him before going thru with his request
"Why do we need Cedric?" She demanded, disappointed that he had let go of her hands
"He's holding something for me." He answered getting something out of the Cabbage Patch's grasp and laying him on the bed
"What's going on?" She asked
"Well.." He began, getting down on one knee, "I wanted to do this somewhere special at the perfect moment. But surprisingly this seems like the time. I love you and spending the rest of my life without you would probably kill me."
"What are you saying?" She said tears in her eyes
"Will you marry me?" He breathed opening the box and revealing a diamond that probably cost him a year of tuition
"Its too big." She replied
"No its not. Besides your worth what this cost and more." He smiled
"You spent way too much." She argued
"Is this your way of saying yes?" He laughed
"No." She frowned as his face fell, "This is."
She pulled him up by his shirt so he could look her in the eyes. She wrapped her arms around his neck and leaned in to graze his lips in a sweet touch.
"Yes?" He asked
"Yes." She assured him as he put the ring on her finger
"I love you Humphrey." She admitted looking down at her ring
"I love you too Waldorf... soon to be Humphrey." He told her leaning in to kiss her mouth
"But I'm not moving to Brooklyn." She informed him making him erupt in laughter
