Hey all! Been outta the game for awhile! I blame school and work and summer. But I'm back...please let me know how rusty i have gotten. xoxoxo
All I know is that your so nice
All I know is that you're so nice
You're the nicest thing I've seen
I wish that we could give it a go
See if we could be something
I wish that my smile was your favorite kind of smile,
I wish that you would never forget the look on my face….when we first met
Basically…I wish that you loved me
I wish that you needed me
I wish that without me you'd be spending the rest of your nights awake
I wish I was the last thing on your mind
You're the nicest thing I've ever seen
I wish we could see if we could
be something.
She leaned back in her chair, a smile lighting up her face as she heard the tell-tale footfalls. She knew who is was without even looking- from the whistle to the cadence of his step…she knew him. Even though she didn't need to look at him to know who he was, or even understand what he was saying…she did. He was well formed, as she would vocalize while inside her head she used terms like 'hot'. Terms that everyone thought she was oblivious to, along with the feelings for the man rounding the corner and calling out her name from the door.
Leaning back in her chair she looked over at him and took a moment to admire the features that left her speechless time and time again. The features that intrigued her when they first met, and compelled her to make an effort, give him a chance. Everyone saw his boyish yet charming good looks and felt his charisma…that was obvious. Underneath that however she saw something else. She saw the intensity that lurked beneath, and although she had no idea at the time why he would be so conflicted she was intent to find out.
A small sigh escaped as she watched him take up residence across from her, in one of her well worn office chairs. She smiled and nodded as he talked but instead of hearing what he was telling her she was watching his mouth move. Watching him. She did that more than many people suspected- only Angela was privy to her constant Booth watching agenda. At one point she thought there was a chance for something more. Something amazing. That was before his infamous marker came out and drew the line. The line keeping her from expressing her true feelings. From telling exactly how much she depended on him, more than ever before, and how she was ok with that. She needed him in her life, whether as friend or lover and she couldn't jeopardize that by making it awkward.
With a smile and a nod she stood and donned her blue lab coat leading him into the lab for another day of stolen glances and hidden desires. Story of her life.
