Once A King or Queen in Narnia
Once A King or Queen in Narnia
To grow - to live twice,
a childhood
stretching years,
a High King before high school.
To reign as
time stands still,
and go back to your own world
as children
again.
The chore of starting over,
with the wisdom of a
queen
still living inside you,
knowing that once
you were a
Daughter of Adam,
a Son of Eve, and your word was law.
To
grow, to live twice
not sure if you will ever go home again,
if
you will live to speak with a Faun,
joke with a Beaver,
dance
with a Tree...
or if the next time you see Aslan,
it will be
after you have closed your eyes
forever.
Once a King or
Queen, he promised,
always a King or Queen.
But he is not a
tame lion
to be caught and held and questioned -
and when,
you wonder,
when?
