Vlad's eyes were focused on D'Ablo. He could feel his heart go faster, fear pulsing through him. Where is Otis?? He thought.
D'Ablo turned his head and saw Vlad. The sky suddenly seemed to turn black - the ground cracked and Vlad felt fear in every part of his body; this can't be happening.
D'Ablo slowly walked up to Vlad and put an evil smile on his face. But suddenly, a blonde girl stepped in front of him.
Wait, what the hell? Vlad thought. He looked closer. "BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER?!?!?!?!?!?!" Vlad shouted.
The girl turned around; looking exactly like Sarah Michelle Gellar. "SHHHHHH......."
Vlad cocked his head to the side. "You're not Buffy..."
"Vlad! Wake up!" Buffy said.
"Uhhh...what?"
"VLADIMIR!!!!!!" She shouted.
Vlad opened his eyes and saw Nelly looking at him from the doorway. "Vlad, you were talking in your sleep."
"Uh...I was?" He asked sitting up and rubbing his hand on his neck.
"Yeah...Buffy?"
He smiled. "What can I say? I fell asleep watching it last night...my bad..." then his smile faded. "D'Ablo was there too...I was scared, it felt totally real Nelly... and I miss Otis. Why did he leave?"
Nelly looked down. "Things between us...they got complicated, Vlad. Come on down, I made breakfast."
Vlad jumped out of bed and walked slowly to the kitchen, thinking about his dream and if it had any importance. He dismissed it the second he saw the food; it was steak...with all the blood left. Vlad took a bite and sucked the blood out of it - enjoying every second. "Thanks, Nelly."
The doorbell rang. Vlad stood up. "That's probably Henry."
Vlad slept in his sweatshirt and jeans from the day before - no need to change. It was a saturday. "Hi, Henry."
"Hello, Vlad." He smiled. "You ready dude?"
"Yep." He looked towards the kitchen. "Nelly! I'm going to Henry's!"
"Okay! Bye Vlad!"
"Bye!"
He stepped out the door and followed Henry. "Are you enjoying the vampire power?"
He smiled. "Ohh yeah. I mean, it's tough, but I'll get used to it."
An evil vampire turned Henry half vampire and although he felt that it was his fault, it made things easier for him to be around Henry. He didn't have the fear of sucking his blood and killing him.
They were off to the forest because they'd heard about an "animal" attacking and Vlad wanted to know what was going on. He knew it was bad to lie to Nelly and then do something dangerous, but he'd changed that summer and was gonna find out what was going on in his town. Well, it wasn't "his" town, but he was determined to keep it safe, just for Meredith, Nelly, and Henry.
Meredith! he thought. I gotta call her...
He and Henry walked through the woods - there were many marks on trees; Vlad remembered everything from those nights. He examined a tree; a handprint and a symbol was there - Japanese for pain it seemed.
"VLAD!!" Henry said. "Come look at this..."
He walked over to henry and saw a body - dead, no pulse, no warmth. For sure dead. "It looks like he was murdered by a vampire. Let's get out of here." They walked away.
"Shouldn't we tell someone??" Henry asked.
"No, we should -"
"Hello boys." A deep, male voice said.
Vlad slowly turned around.
"My name's Salem. And what are you boys doing here?"
"Uhh..nothing. Just looking around." Vlad said nervously.
"Ahh, I see...well it isn't safe around here. There's been a few murders...we don't want two teenage boys on that list, do we?"
"Nope," Henry said quickly. "We'll just, uh, get outta here. Right?"
"Yeah." Vlad said. "We'll go right now. Bye."
"Good bye." Salem said.
After they left the woods, Henry looked worridly at Vlad. "Was he the murderer?"
Vlad shurgged. "He seems...different. Crap. It's already twelve thirty. I gotta call Meredith."
Henry laughed. "Haa, you're late! See ya dude."
