On the Rink
'Oh come on, Owen. Don't be such a prat!' Gwen urged, wobbling towards the rink.
'You're one to say it! At least you're female, so you'll have a natural talent for it,' he grumbled back as he tightened his laces. He kept his head down, despite giving Gwen a nasty glare.
Ianto sighed. Owen and Gwen were bickering. Again.
'Oh I don't know about that, I'm not so good at ice skating myself. Would you care to help me, Owen?' Tosh's soft voice questioned behind him. She placed a hand on his shoulder as she waited for an answer.
'Oh sure, Tosh. Why don't I? So we can both slip and fall into a heap on the ice and get hypothermia. Sure, why not?' he replied sarcastically, gesturing with his arms.
Ianto drew in a deep breath and raised his gaze. He knew how Tosh felt about Owen. He also knew how Owen denied his feelings for her. And somehow their relationship reminded him of his and Jack's. But only sometimes.
'Having fun, kids?' Jack wobbled through the doorway and over to his lover. His 100-watt grin proved his gleeful attitude.
Jack placed a hand on the Welshman's back and leaned closer.
'Not giving you too much trouble, are they?' he whispered as he placed his free hand on the railing.
Ianto rolled his eyes. Typical.
Owen grumbled, 'Oh, please.'
'Now if you'll excuse us, I'm going to take my lover ice skating,' Jack chided happily.
Then captain Jack Harkness removed his hand from Ianto's back, wrapped his left arm around his Welshman's waist and urged him towards the rink.
