Demon Lord Beelzebumon. Most digimon fear that name. But it only brings anger and frustration for me.
I remember the first time I met the so called tyrant. I was just a salamon back then and I had gotten in a battle with a digimon more powerful than me. I was going to lose and die. I was in so much pain; I closed my eyes, waiting for the final blow. But it never came. Instead, I opened eyes to see Him, absorbing the data, with that well known Smirk on his face. "Better luck next time kid." Then he just upped and left.
Oh, sure, that time I was grateful. He had saved my life after all. But it happened again.
This time, we were equal levels. My opponent had just, surprised me, that's all. And he called me doll. I hate being called that. But I was down for the count. No changing that. But then he appeared, almost like a knight in shining armor, expect he wasn't. He was an evil tyrant after all. My opponent fell, and there he stood, with that annoying smirk on his face. And he said to me again "Better luck next time, kid." That day I decided I hated being called kid more than doll.
He did it again and again. Always showing up in the nick of time, always absorbing the data, always with that GOD ALFULL SMIRK! "Better luck next time kid."
I could hear him say that while I fought. I couldn't get it out of my head. It was always the same. Be I gatomon or angewomon, it was always the same. Over and over again. "Better luck next time kid. Better luck next time kid."
I swore that one day I would wipe that smirk off his face. Then I'd show him kid.
I had finally reached a mega level, Opanimon. I was going to defeat him for sure. I went to his castle and challenged him, demanding he face me.
There he stood, with that same smirk, looking down on me from the top of the gates. He was latterly standing on top of them.
We fault a great battle. It took the whole day. I had him corned right there! I prepared my attack then he disappeared only to show up right behind me.
I had fallen. I was too weak to fight anymore. I sat there waiting for the blow, not even bothering asking for mercy, not that I would even if I had hope of receiving it. I did everything right, I can't believe I lost. What did I do wrong?
But instead of killing me, he took my hand, and pulled me up; with the biggest smirk on his face I had ever seen. He then whispered in my ear "Better luck next time kid." I blushed out how close he was.
He just turned around and went back though those dam gates. Walking away like nothing happened.
I was more determined than ever. I would wipe that smirk off his face. Just you wait and see. As soon as I figure out what the hell just happened.
