Castiel had awaited this day for a very long time. It was the day of the choosing ceremony.
The king had a beautiful princess. No one had ever seen the princess, but many have heard that the princess had the softest skin, greenest eyes, and hair that flowed like a waterfall. And today was the day that the king would choose someone worthy to marry the princess.
Castiel, along with many others, have trained hard for this day. No one knew what the series of tests that needed to be completed were, so they trained for every possibility. From running to writing poetry, there wasn't a thing Castiel hadn't tried before.
He was very nervous. There was only an hour left before the ceremony started, and he was barely dressed. He quickly scurried to the bathroom and got in the shower. The warm water cascading down his back relaxed his muscles. The shampoo smelled of watermelons and cinnamon.
When Castiel came out of the shower, the bathroom was filled with steam. He wiped the fogged up mirror. All of his flaws immediately jumped out at him. A single piece of hair was an inch too long. He had a scab on his chin from cutting himself while shaving.
He sighed. There was nothing more he could do. He walked out of the bathroom, towel hung low on his hips, and walked to his room. On the way, he ran into Gabriel.
"Eyyy little bro. Are you ready for your big day?" Gabriel was in his usual I-don't-care-what's-happening-as-long-as-it's-not-happening-to-me mood.
"Please, Gabriel. Don't make the situation worse than it is. I need to get dressed." Castiel replied and quickly slipped past Gabe into his room, slamming the door behind him.
On his bed was a three-piece suit laid out. The jacket and pants were a coal black that apparently brings out his ocean blue eyes. The crisp white shirt was a heavy contrast. He put on the suit. He fished out his favourite blue tie (again, it brought out his eyes, according to Balthazar, his other brother) from a drawer and tied it around his neck, folding his collar over it. Finally he put on his trench coat for good luck. Well, technically it was an overcoat, but that didn't matter.
It was finally time for the ceremony. Castiel took a deep breath and left his room. Gabriel and Balthazar gave him a pat on the back, wishing him good luck, and he opened the door to a sunny Friday afternoon.
