Joking aside (funny. i can't seem to stop kidding around"), I present to you a very short NejiTen Valentine fic! Hope y'all like it. :]
I hope the title is just right for this fic...
Sunlight was streaming in Neji's room through his half-opened window, illuminating the piles of clothes on the floor and the dishevelled bed sheets. Two teens were snuggled in bed with contented smiles plastered on their faces. The boy, his long brown hair splayed on his shoulders and pillows, had his arm around the girl's bare shoulder. A soft purr gusted from the girl's mouth.
Tenten gently stirred from her sleep as she began to slowly open her eyes, wincing slightly when her hips and thighs throbbed. She was greeted with Neji's soft smile, inches away from her face.
"Good morning," Tenten whispered softly. She cuddled closer to him and sighed contentedly.
Neji kissed the top of her head gently. "Good morning, my beauty."
Both of them laid silent for a while, listening to each other's even breathing and reminiscing what had happened last night. It was full of bliss and love, they both noted, that it made their stomachs churn with excitement.
Neji cleared his throat. "Tenten."
"Hmm?"
"Do you know what day today is?"
Tenten went still for a moment, scanning for ideas in her head. "Uh… Sunday?"
"No, that's not what I meant," Neji said, chuckling.
Tenten smiled at the sound of his chuckle. "Other than that, I have no idea."
"It's Valentine's Day," Neji whispered in Tenten's ears. She shivered pleasantly.
"Oh. Happy Valentine's Day, then, lover boy," Tenten teased.
Neji didn't reply. Instead he laughed and Tenten joined in. They both laughed for a good while before they fell silent. Tenten could hear Neji's wild heartbeat and began to wonder why. She herself also became nervous, her mind getting uncertain. Does Neji love me too?
"Tenten," Neji whispered hoarsely, "will you marry me?"
Tenten looked up at him, surprised. For a moment, she stopped breathing and her heart skipped a beat. She almost melted at his serious and nervous gaze coming from his pearly eyes.
"Of course. Of course, I'll marry you," Tenten said with tears in her eyes.
Neji hugged her happily and sighed with relief. His future before was dim but now, it is certain: living a happy life with his soon-to-be wife Tenten.
That's it!! (snickers) I know that the ending sounded like "what?!"… :P
