Sasuke stood at the edge of the stairs, watching just over the railing edge. What he was staring at gave him a cold chill through his entire being, his eyes felt wide with fear. Since his father owned a huge corporate company of the shore and in central Japan, he'd seen the Japanese mafia rings more than his fair share of a lifetime, but this stuck him as odd. He'd never had to worry about crossing the lines with any of these men, mainly because more than half of them were under his father's employment anyway, but the people at the bottom of the stairs had obviously crossed some boundary. There were shouts followed with scraps of feet over the concrete basement floor to the school, Sasuke's hands gripped the railing straining to hear what they were saying.

Someone was pinned against a wall, while the other, a girl, was on her knees on the ground. He watched silently, wondering if he needed to run to his car and get the handgun from under his seat. He'd never used it, it had been Itachi's, but these kids were in deep shit. A tall man with long black hair cascading over his leather trench coat grabbed for the girl's chin pulling her face upward. As he yelled at her, spit flew from his lips, showering the poor girl.

"I SAID, where the FUCK is the money kid!?" she flinched back from his touch and jerked her head to the side, out of his grip, and bit him hard on the hand. It drew small drops of blood, which struck the concrete, and before the girl had a recovery time a boy moved in behind her. This one differed from the man in front of her, his hair was short and brown, spiky even. He snatched up a fistful of her hair and pulled her head back laughing.

"If you want to bite, than I'll just have to make you scream." he grinned pulling her up to her feet by her locks. The man with the black hair turned motioning to the other two boys to bring the other kid towards him and out from where Sasuke couldn't see.

The boy they brought forward was tall and somewhat built, with bright golden hair, tan skin, and oceanic eyes. Sasuke went rigid all over, he knew that body and hair anywhere, he knew that damn voice anywhere, it was Naruto.

"We'll get you the damn money, come on man, let her go! KIBA LET HER GO!" he shouted in a lower voice than before, he kicked and struggled against the man behind him, but he had a good grip on Naruto.

"Maybe if you watch, you'll get the point, that we want the money and we'll get it with kicks too." Kiba smirked as he slammed the girl into the wall in front of them. Her face hit with a thickened thud, and there was a cracking noise that almost made Sasuke's knees buckle with shock. He could barely see the small line of blood run down the cement blocked wall, the girl groaned trying to push Kiba off of her.

He had her arms pinned behind her back, like a cop, and was working on pulling her shirt up with his free hand. Naruto watched making a face in disgust, his nose crunching up with horror.

"COME ON MAN LET HER GO! DON'T DO THAT!" he shouted before the man with black hair punched him in the stomach. He doubled over in pain, spit dripping from his lips, and that was enough Sasuke was pissed off. Just as Kiba had his dirty hands down the back of the girl's jeans, Sasuke twisted jumping over the side of the railing and landing on the bottom level with a sudden jolt. It shook him on his feet for a moment, and he vaguely thought that he could have just broken his legs, but the adrenaline rush was urging him forward. He grabbed for the nearest thing he saw, a broken piece of pipe from an old gas line, and jerked it breaking it off in a sudden snapping motion. The men all stopped where they were looking to the black haired man for direction. He didn't hesitate, raising the crooked pipe where they could see it plainly, he spoke.

"Hey, let them go." wow, he thought to himself, I'm definitely going to have to get better catch lines than that, then, I sound like batman.

"Well, well, well. If it isn't the Uchiha Prodigy himself. To what do we owe the boss's son?" he smirked chuckling. It was then that Sasuke realized, he'd seen this man several times before. He was pale skinned, nearly geisha white, with dark pitiless eyes, and that hair…this man didn't just work for his father, this was the man his father depended on to keep all the other mafia men in control. He sighed, he'd gotten himself into a big messy pile of shit just now, and he didn't know how to get out of it.

"You owe me letting them go. Take whatever they owe from the accounts you control and leave them alone." he said with a dry mouth. Kiba didn't seem to be paying attention though, not to Sasuke anyway, because he watched him cope a feel at the girl's chest where she was still pinned against the wall. Without much thought, Sasuke whirled the broken pipe at Kiba's head, and if he'd had enough in him to be on target, it would have struck him through the back of his skull. As it was though, he'd only aimed for his shoulder, and it hit it's mark. Tearing through his shoulder, and exiting the other side, was the jagged edge of the metal. He stumbled back screaming in pain, the pale man shook his head sighing.

"Now, now, was that necessary?" he asked turning to face Sasuke. "Fine, let them go, we'll take the money little Sasuke has offered us in debt for these two and leave them be. Let's go." The boys let go of Naruto and moved to follow the pale silhouette up the staircase and to the first floor.

Sasuke moved towards Naruto first, though he shouldn't have, he couldn't help it. He took hold of him by the shoulders shaking him slightly, he was only inches taller than the blonde.

"What on EARTH were you thinking DOBE! Why wouldn't you just ask me for the money!? How do you even OWE them money!?" the words came pouring out in agitation before he stop himself. Naruto looked up at him, tears in his bright eyes, and he turned to look away from the raven haired teen.

"I didn't owe the money, my dad did!" he snapped without looking up. He was about to ask how a debt that old had been resurrected, but the girl slid down the wall from his peripheral vision. He let go of Naruto, giving him a small apologetic smile, and took hold of the girl to pull her up. Naruto moved to stand behind him, hovering over his shoulder.

"Ashi?" he asked timidly. "Ashi are you alright?" Sasuke watched Naruto slightly, then turned to look at the girls face. So, her name was Ashi then, she didn't look like she was in good shape. Her nose was busted open, blood running freely down her chin and onto her baby blue shirt. She didn't answer, but then again, her eyes were squeezed shut. Sasuke had a hunch it was because Kiba had just had his hands all over her, that'd be enough for anyone to try and pretend it hadn't happened.

"Hey, he's gone." he said in a small gently voice. "Kiba's gone, it's okay to open your eyes now." he pushed some of her brown and red streaked hair behind her ear. She opened her eyes slowly, tears welling in them, and Sasuke couldn't help but take notice, that they were the most vivid crystalline green he'd ever seen, not as beautiful as Naruto's, but green like pine. Naruto put a warm tan hand on his shoulder and he looked up to meet his eyes, it had been a few days since they'd seen each other, and the last time they had, Sasuke had told Naruto how he actually felt about him. He couldn't see into his eyes, or read what Naruto was thinking about, and he hadn't given him an answer that night either. Naruto had punched him turning away and just left, his cheek still had a slight bruise from the blonde's left hook, but looking up at him now, he felt a pang in his stomach.

"Come on, we're staying at your place for the night." was all the blonde said to him, a grin spreading over his lips. Sasuke sighed heaving the girl up into his tense arms, and turned his back on Naruto.

"Yeah yeah Dobe, just wat me out of house and home" he muttered under his breath laughing, it had always been like this, without fail, the two boys at heart were the exact same.
