Disclaimer: Yuugiou (Yu-Gi-Oh!, Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters) is the property of Takahashi Kazuki and respective publishers, including Shueisha, Studio Gallop, Nihon Ad Systems, Toei Animation, 4Kids, and others. I would never claim to own it or attempt to make money off of it- just think of this as a written, free doujinshi and hopefully we'll get along fine ;)

Before the Festival
-o-
The room is full of noise, even though the music which Anzu-san had turned on earlier can barely be heard.
"No, no, wear this one…"
"But isn't it a little…flashy?"
"Since when were you ever afraid of standing out?"
Anzu-san blushes. "I meant that it clashes!"
The obi is thrown away, and she reaches out and catches it. A moment later, she has to catch the yukata as well. She sighs, and contemplates whether now would be a good time to tell them to be more careful. They're like this every time they go to a festival, though, and it is fun. There are advantages to sitting back from things from time to time.
"Mm, but you can't wear pink all the time."
"Why not? Mai-san wears purple all the time!"
"What's with this 'san'? Don't you think we've known each other too long for that sort of thing?"
"I guess so…"
"You, too, Shizuka-chan!" Mai-san says, turning to smile at her.
Shizuka can't help but blush a little. "Okay, Mai…"
Mai-san (or just Mai now, she supposes) leans down and pulls her up from her seat on the bed. As she spies the yukata still in her hands, Mai's smile changes. "Hmm, I bet that would look cute on you, Shizuka-chan!"
"The obi still doesn't match," Anzu-san mutters.
"You can use mine, then," Mai says idly, and unties hers. Somehow, she's managed to tie it nicely without a sash underneath… "Now hurry, before we're late."
Anzu-san glares at her weirdly, and Shizuka tries not to giggle.
"We could just wait until Tanabata," she suggests, and wins the argument.
Sitting back from the argument until the right time is a very useful skill.
