Title: The Phonecall
Author: Lore
Summary: just a response to Riley's help
Notes: What, the guy did earn some points in saving Spike's life

"Do I have to?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

"Because he saved your life, getting the chip out."

"He helped get it in, should I thank him for that as well?"

"What do you think?"

"It did save some lifes that I don't have to feel guilty about. Nah,
the chip still sucks."

"Spike!!!!"

"I'm calling, I'm calling."

"Now, what's that tune about?"

"Goverment conspiracies, they have the cutest holding music."

"Bloody hell, there's five more waiting. Can I call later?"

"No."

"So did you bring out the pompoms?"

"Of course!"

"Tasty."

"Spike!" A clap of something hard. "And don't you dare drop that
phone"

"Ow."

"Poor baby. Come on, the sooner you get it done, the sooner it's
over with."

"Yeah, but it's Riley, Captain Cardboard. Do I really have to thank
him?" Small pout resounding through his voice.

"Yes. And don't call him that."

"McKinney flower shop, can we help you?"

"See, government conspiracy."

"Shhhh."

"Is Riley Finn there?"

"I'm not sure who you're talking about, miss."

"Look, if he's there just tell the wanker that Spike said thanks."

"Spike give that phone back." Brief sounds of a struggle. "Could you
please ask him to come to the phone."

"Miss, there's no Riley Finn working here. Or any other sort of
Secret Ops."

"Suuuuuuuure, can you please hand him over anyway."

"Miss, there is no Riley Finn here. Now will you please stop calling
here."

"But..." The phone ring stopped before she could continue.

"See I knew this was a waste of time."

"Never." Sounds of smacking in the background.

Riley sat back in his chair, Sam's hand on his lap. "He actually
said that? Thank you? I..."

"Don't have a heart-attack, dear."

"I know, they just.."

"So..."

"I told you I'd do it, didn't I?"

"And you'll let her be happy with him?"

"Yes!" Smacking.

"He still makes me mad."

Another kiss. "Just as long as you don't go back to the short blond."

"Nah, I got all the woman I want right here."

Angelus turned off the video screen and smirked. Spike unchipped,
Riley out of the way. What a perfect moment to hate. Never a better
moment to mess it up for the both of them.

Insane laughter...
