A/N: Thank you to everyone who read and reviewed "Mercy"! I was honestly surprised and beyond thrilled with the response I got for it. Thank you so much again, I really appreciated all the wonderful and sweet comments!

Here is another one-shot, inspired a little bit by the movie Good Luck Chuck. Hope you like it!

"What are we doing here, Derek?"

"We're here to see the penguins," he replied as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

It was actually quite obvious what they were doing considering they were currently standing in the middle of the Penguin Cave at the Aquarium watching the black and white critters waddle around their icy habitat. The obviousness of the situation apparently did not register with Casey.

"I mean what am I doing here."

"Marti wanted you to see the penguins," he responded again in the same manner as before.

"Well, this wasn't entirely Marti's idea, was it?" she pushed again.

He turned his focus from the penguins to meet her eyes. His eyes flickered for a brief second, however not long enough for her to get the answer she wanted.

"Don't know what you're going on about, Case," he answered as he shift his focus back to the penguins.

"Well, Marti told me that you suggested that I come along with you guys."

"I would never do that," he replied with a shake of his head.

"Are you calling Marti a liar?"

"Well, she did descend from a great lineage of liars."

A little annoyed and knowing that she will never get a straight answer from him, she dropped it and concentrated her focus on the penguins.

"That penguin totally ate ice," he chuckled as he watched a penguin stumble off the ice and into the water.

Casey rolled her eyes at his remark, "That penguin only slid cause that other penguin pushed her into the water," she said pointing to the guilty penguin waddling away from the scene of crime.

"How do you know it's a 'her'?" he asked. "If it's a 'her', it must be emulating you, Case -- what with the klutziness and everything," he said with a grin.

"Well that mean penguin that pushed her must be you then, Derek -- what with the asshole-ness and everything," she retorted.

"Asshole-ness. That hurt, Case," he feigned a pout. "In all seriousness, the penguins do remind me of you. They're awkward and clumsy ..."

"Gee, thanks, Derek," she murmured with a roll of her eyes.

"But when they're swimming in the water, it's hard not to like them."

He shift his gaze from the penguins to meet her eyes yet again. She only held his gaze for a second before bursting into laughter.

"What?" he demanded, confused with her reaction to what he thought was a very poignant moment between them. And Derek Venturi does not do poignant -- so this was rare, and it was not the type of reaction he had wanted or expected.

"You totally stole that from Dane Cook in 'Good Luck Chuck'," she managed to sputter out as she continue to laugh at his blatant crime of plagiarism.

"Yeah, well," he grunted. "Not totally," trying to somewhat redeem himself.

"That was such a bad movie," she said in between her gasp for air as her laughing fit continue to consume her.

"I didn't really notice. Not with Jessica Alba in it," he retorted.

"You're such a guy," she said as she gave him a light shove.

"Jessica Alba and the penguins. I liked the penguins too," he said as he gave her a smirk.

Casey knew she didn't have to give a second thought to her question from before. She already had her answer.

Not exactly the best movie ever but the penguin stuff in it was pretty darn cute :)

Review if you can, thanks!
