The Jedi Temple, Coruscant
Mace Windu was meditating in his personal quarters, contemplating the war. With the many victories accumulated since the knighting of Anakin Skywalker, they might just be able to pull off a victory. Maybe. No matter how many victories the young knight had recently accumulated, the war was most going to keep going for years. The massive droid armies of the Confederacy were a perfect match for the Republic's skilled clone armies.
This brought him back to the reason he was meditating. If Skywalker and Kenobi could kill General Grievous, the war could end in a matter of weeks. Without his best general, the Confederacy would be unable to resist the Republic. They would be saving millions of lives, and finally bring Dooku to justice.
But if they didn't return, the Republic would lose two Jedi who were arguably the most effective Generals they had.
His musings were cut short by the beeping of his comlink.
"Yes?"
"General Windu! A Confederate fleet just came out of hyperspace!"
Yoda sat in on his small cushion in his room, also meditating. He tried to reach out through the force and sense the future, but found it clouded by the dark side even more than usual. He just could not pierce through the veil and- There! He could sense... No.
The Jedi master leapt to his feet and raised the shutters on his window, looking out at more droid fighters than any Jedi had seen in one place before blotting out the sky, filling the space usually taken up by civilians in their speeders moving about the city, living their normal lives.
The door behind him opened suddenly as Mace Windu ran inside.
"The thity ith under attack!"
"Defend the city we must!" Yoda replied. Something felt wrong. It wasn't until a few seconds after Windu raced back out the door that he realized what it was. Why was Windu talking so strange.
Republic Hangar, Coruscant
Mace Windu strode with a purpose down the rows upon rows of fighters and he looked for his distinctly purple colored one. He ignored the dozens of pilots swarming past him to their ships as they prepared to head out to do battle with the enemy. Even as he found his fighter, parked right at the edge of the hangar, ARC-170s and their three pilot crews began flying over head, rushing to destroy those who dared attack their capital world.
"Master Windu!" Master Tiin yelled over as he ran up alongside him. "Enemy starships continue to spill out of hyperspace. Our forces are holding, but they need help."
There was only one thing to do. "Get up there and take command."
The duo finally arrived at their fighters, which were conveniently parked next to each other. Climbing into his cockpit, Windu offered the usual blessing of good luck. "May the fourth be with you."
Tiin looked at him in slight confusion as Windu realized what he had just said, suddenly feeling compelled to face palm. "... And you." The cockpits lowered down, and the two flew out. Well that was embarrassing. At least he could be glad that saying the de facto phrase for good luck wouldn't jinx him or anything.
In The Skies above Coruscant
Falling out of an particularly thick clout of fighters, Windu's fighter flew around in circles, trailing smoke. He punched out the cockpit and leapt out. He knew he shouldn't have said that earlier.
Well, I really wanted to type something short today. Then it hit me. Why not have Samuel L. Jackson say something with the wrong pronunciation in Star Wars? Anyways, what do you think? I posted this at 4:12. I thought it was clever, but it all seems kind of stupid now (4:12. 4+12=16. 16=4•4). But of course, I forgot to mention. There's no option for doing stories for The Kingsman! I mean, why? They have The Room, but not The Kingsman? There goes my crossover. Whatever.
