The blackness of the sky was not from the lack of sunlight, but from smoke. The entire city of Magnolia was in flames, nay, in ruins. Buildings collapsed, the streets were ablaze, and the body count from the destruction was immeasurable.
"Why are you doing this?" A horribly-injured Sting asked as he lied on the ground next to his partner Rogue.
Standing over him was a creature of pure terror. Wings composed of dark red scales were extended as it put its hand toward the Twin Dragon Slayers. Blood-colored flames were formed as it put a devilish smirk on its face.
"You're not killing anyone else!" A voice screamed as several lances made of ice struck the demon.
Gray Fullbuster panted as he was already heavily injured and drained of magic energy. His body was covered in blood and bruises. The demon blocked the attack with one of its wings. Once it noticed Gray it immediately charged him, thrusting a claw at his body. Gray covered himself with an Ice-Make shield. It kept its onslaught up until out of nowhere a card sliced into one of its pectorals.
"How could you?! He was a father to you!" Cana shouted as she continued to throw magic cards at the beast.
It shot a glare of nothing but hatred at Cana. Gray tried to seize the opportunity by stabbing it with an Ice-Make sword, but the attack was parried by one of its arms. The next thing he saw was a leg with a fiery aura swinging at his head, knocking him on the ground.
The demon tried to assault Cana next. She threw more magic cards at it but they were all handily deflected. Two swords then struck the beast. Erza in her Heaven's Wheel armor and Gajeel's Iron Dragon Demon Sword did what they could to incapacitate the demon. However it managed to defend itself from their attacks. Erza put one strike in its arm, which angered it even more.
It was about to unleash a flaming roar until it was wrapped up by a blue and golden rope of energy. Keeping it still for a moment while Gajeel and Erza jumped out of the way.
"Loke now!" Lucy shouted.
"Regulus Lion Brilliance!" He shouted as an incredible light exploded from his body.
The beast screamed out as it was temporally blinded and in some pain as well.
"Blumenblat!"
"Dragon Slayer's Secret Art, Iron Demon God Sword!"
Blood spurted from its body. No mortal being could take the impact of two of Fiore's most powerful sword attacks, but this was no mortal being. It rose to its feet again. Only to meet another set of destructive attacks.
"Soul Extinction!"
"Lightning Dragon Halberd!"
A massive ripple of power could be felt throughout the kingdom with those two attacks. An explosion of lightning and darkness energy hit the demon. Facing the full force of Mirajane in her Satan Soul: Sitri form and Laxus would mean death for anyone else, but like always the demon survived. It stood up once again to see Fairy Tail's finest wizards staring him in the face. Mirajane, Laxus, Erza, Gajeel, Gray, Lucy, Cana, Juvia and Elfman all remained strong and continued to fight. They had been trying to stop its rampage for probably three hours now. Countless lives have been already lost and they were all on the brink of theirs.
"Your reign of terror shall end here and now!" Erza declared as she pointed her sword at it.
"YOU'LL NEVER STOP ME! I'LL KIL EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU" It growled as flames swirled around then completely enveloped his body.
The magic energy they all felt was incredible. They all knew with one attack it could instantly put an end to any of their lives. Hope slowly began to fade as the demon continued to charge itself.
"Wake up," a tearful Wendy pleaded in the distance. "Wake up Happy."
The little girl pulled the exceed out of the crumbled remains of a building. She and Carla shook its body in an attempt to regain its consciousness. The demon heard her cries and the flames radiating from its body ceased.
"Happy?" Natsu Dragneel shuddered.
