Duck, weave, evade, block and shoot

In the middle of the Battle of Hogwarts, Oliver Wood finds himself comparing it to Quidditch and notices that they are not too dissimilar. Because that's what he's like at times.

Duck, weave, evade, block and shoot. These are some of the main parts of battle. In that way, it's not too dissimilar from a Quidditch match, at least that's the way it seemed to Oliver Wood. It was a bit like this.

Ducking

He ducked fast as a green killing curse shot in his direction and shattered a section of wall behind him.

Weaving

The Acromantula's were crawling over the floor on the way in and Oliver found himself skipping between the giant spiders just to get through. The Death Eater behind him wasn't so lucky and there was the sound of squelching as he was eaten alive.

Evading

Oliver found himself behind a group of Death Eaters at one point. There were seven of them and one of him. They weren't fighting anyone, they were simply looking for combatants. With no small measure of caution, Oliver slipped away from them without being noticed.

Blocking

The Death Eater in front of him threw a curse at Oliver when he was on the ground. Unable to dodge, Oliver threw up the quickest Protego in history and the spell bounced back to its sender.

Shooting

The first person Oliver killed during the Battle of Hogwarts and indeed the first person Oliver had ever killed was a Death Eater near the front doors of Hogwarts. He saw Katie Bell duelling a vicious Death Eater, her face screwed up in concentration. Before he could even stop to think, his wand was out and a green killing curse escaped from his lips. The green spell hit the man firmly in the chest and with a look of surprise, he died.
