The Chronicles of Knuckles
Chapter 1: Prologue
Knuckles, Sonic, and Tails were defeating Eggman's greatest robots yet. It had all of the seven chaos emeralds inside it, but it was using the negative power of the emeralds. So Sonic had a chance with the positive power of the emeralds. They were all in space, so there was enough room to fight.
"Tails, let me out," Sonic demanded Tails.
"Right," Tails answered. Knuckles didn't say anything, he just sat there breathing slowly.
Tails let open the door.
"Here I go!" Sonic jumped out of the ship and onto Eggman's robot. Sonic concentrated on gathering the emeralds' power.
A bright light surrounded Sonic. Tails and Knuckles had to cover their eyes with the back of their arms.
When the bright light faded, Super Sonic stood there grinning. He was very ready for a fight.
But Knuckles had a feeling of dread, like something terrible was about to happen. He turned to look at Tails, who was concentrating on flying the ship, and shooting the robot beast.
"Well, well, well. Super Sonic," Eggman's voice came out of the robot.
"Yeah, are you ready to give up?"
Eggman laughed a horrible sick laugh.
"Give up to a pesky hedgehog like you? I don't think so. Don't think this'll be easy for you this time, because this time is much more dangerous," Eggman quietly said.
"Give me all you got Egghead," Super Sonic zoomed around the robot.
"Sonic don't forget about your rings, it looks like you're running out. Just hurry and get rid of the robot," Knuckles voice boomed from the ship.
Super Sonic just realized this and gasped.
"I have only ten rings left," He murmured.
Knuckles suddenly appeared on top of the ship, arms full of rings.
"Here," He said taking a step forward, but fell as he did. The rings fell from his arms as he fell. He felt like he was swimming in water, which was right.
"Knuckles!" Super Sonic tried to go after him but the robot had wrapped its clawed hands around Super Sonic's waist tightly.
A missile suddenly shot Tails's ship and Tails's ship was on fire. Tails was gonna burn and Knuckles was gonna keep falling forever.
Super Sonic had no choice but to chaos control his friends somewhere safer. The claw was squeezing very tightly.
"Chaos…control," He managed so say. Tails vanished from the ship and Knuckles vanished from falling. Super Sonic turned back into Sonic and he looked at the robot's face.
"You will die Sonic the Hedgehog and I will build Eggman land on earth," Eggman nastily said.
"My friends won't let that happen," Sonic gasped.
"Goodbye, Sonic the Hedgehog," Eggman whispered then squeezed Sonic even harder, crushing his kidneys, ribs, and breaking his arms.
Sonic fell limp in the clawed hand.
The claw threw Sonic away and Sonic floated away into deep space. He wasn't dead, just unconscious. He would soon die if he didn't get any help, it was very cold in space.
Knuckles awoke on some red leaves. The red leaves were everywhere. He coughed. The leaves had a very strong smell of pollen. He looked around and only saw red trees, red leaves, red bushes, red grass, the sky was red, the clouds were a deep shade of red, red rocks, and some red bugs.
He sat up, but his arm was badly hurt. He couldn't remember how he got here.
He walked for what seemed an hour, but found no one. It was an endless red forest.
After a minute he remembered. Super Sonic had chaos controlled him and Tails somewhere else but not himself. He wondered if it had drained all of his energy.
Super Sonic certainly had not sent him to earth…
