The coffee maker bubbled busily as it churned out the nectar of life, as she called it. The toaster hummed happily as it warmed her meager breakfast. Shed grab something form the mess hall and eat at her desk. She always did. She padded around in her dark green pajama pants and a white undershirt, her feet bare against the cold wood floor. She sat at the small table reading the paper, taking note of the personal announcements section. Nobody she knew getting married or having a kid, at least not today. She flipped to the comics. She had a soft spot for talking dogs, that's why she had Black Hayate. She finished the funnies with a gentle chuckle and set off towards the shower. She finished her shower and walked into her room to get dressed. She did so quietly so as not to disturb the man sprawled across the bed, snoring soundly. She walked into the kitchen and drained her remaining coffee and held her briefcase in one hand and her half-eaten toast in the other. Just as she was closing the door behind her she was spun around and kissed soundly on the lips.

"Have a good day, love." He whispered into her ear, his breath steaming against the cold air

"Yeah, you too Ed." Her face felt hot against a slight morning breeze.

And with that Lt. Riza Hawkeye began her Monday on a good not, stepping out into a chilly April breeze, and heading for the Central Military Compound. And State Alchemist Edward Elric slunk back to his still warm bed to sleep away a few more hours as his love worked to save the world. One memo at a time.
