Declan was quite ordinary man. He owned small pub in Newcastle, always full of customers. Because he was charismatic and good looking, he never had problem to get a girl. Somehow he was great liar, always knew what to say and when is time to say it and… he was broke and in debt to almost everyone he knew.
The Déjà vu was not ordinary part of him. Since he was young boy, he often felt like he already visited a place where he never been before or that he seen someone who wasn't there. When he got older, he realized that he can see the past.
Different places with different times. 1930' or the Regency era, were most often.
But one thing was always the same.
The girl.
Round face, brown hair and brown eyes. Very beautiful.
He drew pictures of her, that was the only way, how to get her out of his head. At least for a while.
Declan started to look for her, because in his visions they were always together. Yes, their relationship was never, in any time period, perfect. They argued, his past self lied and cheated. She was hysterical and reckless but somehow they always pulled it through. Declan needed to know this girl, he needed to find her.
Sometimes he though he seen her. She was standing before the grave, in castle ruins. In the mall window, across the street. But flashback crossed his mind and she was gone.
After a while he even dreamed of her. It wasn't always nice dreams but Declan didn´t care. He just wanted to see her again.
That was the time when Declan realized he loved her. Imaginery girl, who probably doesn't even exist and if she ever did, it was ages ago. Imaginery girl, who was loud, wild and inappropriate but also beautiful, funny and kind-hearted.
How can that be?
Declan decided that he has enough of it. He needed vacation, to go somewhere else, and visit old friend should help. Just stop thinking about her. He turned his laptop and booked bus ticket to London. Time of leaving was in 30 minutes.
He rushed from his apartment, run to catch a bus and then he saw her.
Young woman with brown hair and big brown eyes, stood just few feet away and stared at him in shock. She knew exactly who he is. She was looking for him too.
In that moment Declan knew. Everything is as it should be. He found her. He will always find her.
