I just deleted my story 'A Galaxy Upside Down (and far, far away) because of my schedule, so as a second 'I'm sorry' present I wrote this. This could be read as a sequel to 'Just One Look' but it really doesn't have to be.

Enjoy!

Ben felt numb. Completely utterly unfeeling. No, that wasn't true; he a little bit empty. Or maybe a lot empty. Because now his mother was dead. She was lying on the cremation pyre looking as if she was simply asleep, and soon she would wake up and tell Ben everything would be fine; she would take care of everything.

Of course, that was just it. She wasn't going to wake up. Not now, not ever. In fact, since Jacen- no, Colonel Solo- had waltzed into the room her body had started to lose its corporeal form.

Ben watched as his mother's body slowly began to fade; she was becoming one with the Force. He looked intently at her kind face that could so easily turn serious and her fiery red hair that so reflected her personality. He knew if she opened her eyes right now, they would be a bright green that sparkled when she laughed.

Mara Jade Skywalker was a great Jedi Master, but so much more than that, because she was his mom. She was his mother, and he would never see her again, so right before she disappeared completely, he closed his eyes and captured her image in his head.

He didn't ever want to forget. He took one last look, and silently promised to remember her and her sacrifice forever.
