Renn was beginning to worry. It was unnatural for two people to have the same dream on consecutive night. She had a deep feeling that all of it was true: Finn Kedin, The evil being, the demon men. Who would do this? Trapping demons inside men, ripping out people's hearts for nothing. Or was it for nothing?
Torak had been sick twice, once as soon as he woke: outside behind spruce tree, and the other, just after morning meal which narrowly missed Renn's leggings and boots as she as consoling him with her arm round him. She felt sorry for Torak but most of all she was scared for Finn Kedin. If what they saw was true, they were wasting time in journeying back to the Raven clan. They had set off soon as Torak had recovered, that wasn't until just before day meal. This meant that they would not reach the Raven Camp until two days from now, if they went with pace which seemed unlikely as Torak was taking his time.
"We might need to go hunting," Renn called back to Torak. He nodded, there was no smile on his face.
Anxiety gnawed at Torak head. He was sick with worry for Finn Kedin, he wondered about what Renn was feeling. After all she was blood related to him and she'd lived in his company since she was born. Wolf padded up to him.
"Who has taken the lead Wolf?" his amber eyes shone up at Torak like stars. Wolf had now asked this question three times. Torak lowered his head to show that he didn't know. Darkfur bounded up and Wolf and her touched noses before falling behind to wait for pebble.
Renn turned onto a dear path and drew an arrow to her bow. Feeling that he should do as well Torak took his own bow from the hook on his pack. Over the birch trees Torak could just make out the stone peaks of the high mountains, over them would be the deep forest and then the open forest. This gave Torak a feeling that he had never encountered before. Before he met the Ravens he lived with his father, breaking camp every other day. Always on the move as if they had no home. What he was witnessing was homesickness. As he was so engaged in his thoughts he didn't realised that Renn had stopped short. She was staring at the ground, he followed her gaze and saw a footprint. Too small to be a bear or wolverine but yet it had claws. Torak knew those prints, he'd come across them several times before.
Wolf gave a snarl, uff!
Demon.
