So here's a fic I wrote a couple weeks ago as a Secret Santa assignment on the Kataang Forever website (which is why it's kinda short). She liked it and I hope you all do too! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

It was Christmas Eve in the Southern Water Tribe. Katara sat eagerly at the window, waiting for Aang to get home. For the past two weeks, Aang has been in the Fire Nation taking care of a few things. He promised that he will be home in time for Christmas.
Katara sighed as she got up and went over to the Christmas tree in the corner of the room. Because they lived in the icy desert, Christmas trees weren't the norm, but luckily, she and Aang were able to acquire one in the Earth Kingdom when they had visited there a month before.
The waterbender enjoyed the pine scent the tree brought with it. She smiled as she ran her hands over the homemade ornaments that she and her brother had made and put up on the tree. Unfortunately, Aang was called to the Fire Nation before they were able to decorate the tree, so Katara and Sokka had to make ornaments on their own. It was probably for the best, Katara thought, as most of the ornaments were made from animal bones; something Aang would probably object to.
Since Katara was lost in her thoughts, she didn't hear the door open behind her. She only turned around when she heard a soft voice call her name.
"Katara?"
Turning around, Katara saw Aang standing in the doorway with a smile on his face and snow on his coat.
"Aang!" Katara ran to where Aang was standing and threw herself in his arms. "I missed you so much!"
"I missed you too," he said, hugging her back.
After a few moments, they broke from their embrace.
"I'm so glad you made it in time for Christmas. I was so worried I'd have to celebrate without you."
"Me too…" after a few moments, Aang spoke up again. "Hey, I have a surprise for you. I know it's kind of early, but this can't wait until tomorrow."
"What is it?" Katara asked.
Aang smiled. "Close your eyes."
After he was sure Katara couldn't see anything, he took a necklace out of his pocket; a betrothal necklace he had been working on for the past few months, since he had turned 16. The intricate design on the necklace was a mixture of the air and waterbending symbols. Aang had a hard time creating it, but it was worth it.
He put the necklace in front of Katara's closed eyes and whispered, "Open them." Katara gasped.
"Oh Aang!" she breathed, "Is this… is this… what I think it is?"
"Yup," he smiled. "Katara, will you marry me?"
She was speechless. She had no idea Aang would propose anytime soon. Instead of saying anything, Katara just nodded then brought Aang into a passionate kiss.
After a few minutes, they broke their kiss. Aang then took the necklace and carefully put it around Katara's neck.
Afterwards, Aang motioned them to sit by the fireplace. After they were seated, Aang used some firebending to create a roaring fire.
"Merry Christmas, Katara," Aang said as he put his arm around Katara.
"Merry Christmas, Aang."
