Clare's POV

Alli was at my house.

Alli; "OMG Clare I can't believe that Eli's gonna propose to you today! EEEEEPPP!" I laughed at her enthusiasm. I couldn't believe it too.

Clare; "Now I'm not sure that he is Alli. He just told me to meet him his house."

Alli; "Now common Clare. He left you flowers at your house the whole entire week. He said he had a big surprise for you. You're in 12th grade about to graduate. What other surprise might he have for you? Put the pieces together." She was right. Alli was at my house, doing my makeup for me.

Alli; "Alright..i'm done." I looked at the mirror. I loved it. Alli had done such a great job.

Clare; "Thanks Alli. For everything."

Alli; "You can thank me later after you give me the details after tonight." I smiled. The doorbell rang. "I'll get it! You just go ahead and put the finishing touches on your pretty little self. EEEPPPP!" Alli ran downstairs. I shook my head but smiled. That Alli sure is something. "CLARE! COME DOWN HERE! IM LEAVING! TELL ME EVERYTHING LATER!" I looked into the mirror once again and then went downstairs. Eli's jaw dropped. I blushed. He kissed me lightly on the lips.

Clare; "I thought I was supposed to meet you at your house."

Eli; "I just couldn't wait. I have to do this now." I blushed at the thought of my name changing from Edwards to Clare Goldsworthy. Eh, it didn't sound too right but I could get used to it. Eli kissed me one more time, this time more passionately. He broke the kiss and got down on one knee. I could feel my eyes starting to water.

Eli; "Clare. I need to this now. I can't wait any longer. It's been on my mind for the longest time now. I need to do it now. Clare, will you-"

Clare; "Yes Eli! I'll marry you!" I started to cry. I got down on my knees too and hugged him. At first he didn't hug, I was guessing he was shocked, but then he came around.

Eli; "Clare. Marry you? So soon?" My heart dropped. I felt so humiliated. I broke the hug.

Clare; "What do you mean?"

Eli; "Clare, I'm sorry that I made you think that but if you had let me finish my sentence…" I began to cry, hard. Eli saw the disappointment in my face. He hugged my and let me cry in his chest.

Eli; "I just wanted you to tie my shoe."
