Disclaimer- I don't own any of the characters of "Instant Star" (if I did do you think she'd be so young?), I don't know who does, but it's not me and I'm not making any money off this, so don't sue me.
Author's Notes- This is just a short Georgia/Jude bonding piece. I like the relationship between them, it seems that Georgia's kind of a mentor to Jude as well as the head of G Major. So, this story focuses on that. It takes place after "Won't Get Fooled Again". It's slight Tommy/Jude, though only implied. Sorry, I can't help it. Well, that's all enjoy.
Summery- Georgia and Jude talk about some things.
Spoilers- Up to "Won't Get Fooled Again".
Rating- PG
"You wanted to see me?" Jude asked nervously.
Georgia had called her into the conference room, just the two of them. That was unusual, normally they either talked out in open or there were other people around.
"Jude, do you need some time off?" Georgia asked her. "You were great on Under the Mic, but you seemed like you might be at breaking point and that song... If Shay hurt you that much, maybe you do need some time off."
"I might." Jude admitted and then paused. "But Georgia, Shay didn't hurt me that much, but the song wasn't about him. Well, maybe at little bit, but mostly it was about someone else. Or rather, two someone else's."
Georgia looked surprised.
"My dad moved out." Jude admitted, knowing she couldn't keep it a secret. "He was having an affair and I found out, that was what a large part of the song was about."
"Jude, I'm sorry." Georgia said and Jude knew she meant it. "If you need to talk, then I'm here."
"Thanks."
"And the other guy the song was about?" Georgia asked quietly.
"There's this guy in my life." Jude began, not sure how much to say. "He means a lot to me, but we've never really been together, even though I'm pretty sure he feels the same way about me, but he keeps pushing me away."
"Do you know why?" Georgia asked cautiously, not liking the sound of this.
"Yeah, I know." Jude answered softly. "And his reasons are valid, but..."
"But you want him anyway?" Georgia asked softly.
"Yeah." Jude admitted.
Georgia was quiet for a moment. "If it's meant to be it'll happen, sooner or later." She said finally. "You can't rush it, Jude, just let it take it's natural course."
Jude nodded. "I know, I know... It's just..."
"Hard." Georgia finished for her. "I was sixteen once too. But Jude, waiting really is the best thing."
Jude nodded again. "Yeah, I know. I'm just afraid that he won't wait."
Georgia looked Jude right in the eye. "Jude, he'll wait." She told her, and then smiled. "He'd be a fool not to and Tom's a lot of things, but a fool isn't one of them."
Jude's eyes widened. "Georgia-"
"Don't." Georgia told her. "I won't say I approve, because you are too young, but I understand."
Jude was quiet for a moment.
"Thanks." She said finally, then she looked at Georgia in panic. "You won't--"
"Tell Tom that I know?" Georgia finished. "No. It's our little secret."
"Thanks." Jude said, breathing a sigh of relief. "I mean... We haven't done anything."
"Good. Keep it that way." Georgia replied. "But for the record, I do understand and in a year or two, I'll even wish you guys every happiness. Just not right now."
Jude nodded, as if she truly understood. She might not like it, but she understood.
"Thanks." Jude said, standing up.
"No problem." Georgia answered, watching as Jude left the room.
She wasn't sure she was crazy about the idea of Tom and Jude, but as long as they waited, then it would be okay.
Besides, she knew it was inevitable, and who was she to stand in the way of fate? All she could do was delay in long enough so that didn't blow up in everyone's face.
The End
