In Banff,Alberta,Canada,a storm was brewing, both physical and emotional, though the latter had been years in the making.

"Come on Courtney, this was just a huge mistake."Duncan lamely pleaded. "Really, THATS all you have to say Duncan, after EVERYTHING you have put me through?!" Lightning flashed from Courtney's eyes into the sky.

Enough was enough. His endless excuses, gifts, and so called apologies had met their end.

"You really don't know what you're apologizing for, do you?"

"I thought you were mad about me kissing-" "That's not all!"she countered.

"I honestly regret making you feel forced and trapped when we were together, but that is no excuse for all you've done. From getting all cuddly with Gwen, making me think I could trust you again, then abandoning me during the tour. Then when I brought you back I clearly told I wasnt mad, I just missed you so freaking much. Them as soon as I turn my back, you kiss the girl I thought I was becoming friends with. On NATIONAL TV! You then kept twisting the knife by leading me on. And that's not even the full extent! No, to keep the wound fresh, you dated your side chick for TWO FREAKING YEARS and tried to rub it in my face. Oh wait, let's not forget how you sent Alejandro to throw me off my game. Hell, you might as well have had Lindsay's IQ to not see that maybe I knew what his intentions were. That all I wanted was for SOMEONE to comfort me, even if it was fake." She poured out the bleakness of her heart, her voice nearly breaking.

"Princess-"

"You lost that right years ago, you swine! For goodness sake, if you knew how it felt to deal with years worth of your games, you'd hate you as much as I do."

He cautiously approached her, placing a hand on her shoulder and looked down upon her face. "Courtney, I really am sorry. I know I've screwed up these past few years. I've caused so much crap that I can't even begin to make up for. But you have to believe I've changed, just give me this last chance."

He searched his former Princess's eyes , for even a sliver of a chance of redemption. Her once beautiful and lively eyes were now the pits of Tartarus, devoid of all life, happiness, and hope. Wrath now their sole resident.

"Get out."Her tone cold as steel.

"Courtney please-"

"Get out!"she screamed. "Get get out of my doorway, get out of my yard, and get out of my LIFE!" She sounded so final, there was truly no way for him to open the doors of her heart for a last time.

Her door slammed in his face and he made his way off her porch. With every step, the lightning had flashed, always brighter than its previous strike. Duncan had stopped a few feet away from his Harley, mesmerized. Maybe he would be lucky enough to be struck, to lose his memory of his past sins against his only real love and her almost new best friend. Gwen was a great person, truly, but dating her was the same as when they were friends, simply with a few dates and making out. No real passion, no real chase of trying to steal her heart. It was dull, far too easy to be called love, barely infatuation. He spent two years trying to keep a long past dead spark aflame. But at what cost? His first love loathed him entirely, and his best friend couldn't look at him without feeling somewhat used. The lighting grew closer, almost blinding, as he mounted the bike. The next thing he saw was pure electricity as he fell upon the ground.

Then darkness.
