Kayleigh looked out the window as she headed to work, she was quieter as usual. "Are you okay, still not feeling well?"
"Yeah I'm fine, my stomach still hurts but I think it's cramps, I'll be all right just get something over the counter" Kayleigh looked at John as they pulled up in the car park. He gave her a warm smile and kiss on the cheek. They had been together for 4 months now and they were enjoying each others company, probably a bit too much. Kayleigh was in the routine of staying at his house mostly and john didn't seem to mind, he'd rather have that than being crowded at Mandy's. Through the day John was checking up on Kayleigh, watching her through the office window and walking past her at the aisle pretending to be busy. She still looked unwell but was her usual bubbly self. After lunch time john had received a call from another store that he had to attend meeting, he told Kayleigh he'd be back to pick her up at 6.30 then they'd head home for a takeaway and movie. Something they were both looking forward too. When the meeting finished, john couldn't wait to get back to collect Kayleigh, there was luckily no traffic as he drove back but when he parked up he was wasn't greeted by Kayleigh but my Elsie. "Where the hell have you been? Why haven't you been answering your phone" "what are you talking about Elsie, my phone is.." John looked at his phone and it was on silent mode with 5 missed calls from Elsie, 4 from Steve and 2 from an unknown number. "Elsie what's happening.. where's Kayleigh?" "She passed out after lunch in the canteen, taking away in an ambulance" John heart sunk and the colour drained from his face. Elsie was shouting at John but he wasn't listening he got back in the car and started driving them Steve phoned, told him that she was back at Mandy's and to get here quick. john had never driven so fast in his life, he did the 45 minute drive in around 20 minutes, going through multiple red lights. When he arrived at Mandy's, Steve was standing outside. "Where is she? What's happened… Steve?" "She's inside, listen john it's not good, she.. she found out she was pregnant" John was shocked but then he was confused. "what do you mean was?"
When John entered the living room, Kayleigh was sitting with a cup of hot water and a blanket around her. The TV was on low. Her eyes were fixed on it until she saw john. She started crying. "Hey no, it's okay, your okay, it wasn't your fault" he walked over to her and sat down, grabbed her hand and stroked her hair. " you must hate me, how could I not known I was pregnant John. How does mum not know, you must think I'm a terrible person" "Of course I don't hate you, come here. Steve filled me in on what happened, it's not your fault. You didn't know, even the doctor said you wouldn't have known. I love you so much Kayleigh. John pulled her into a hug as Kayleigh kept crying. She felt awful. She loved john and she was terrified of what he must think of her. "Does that mean your not going to leave me? I thought… I thought you?" John pulled Kayleigh into a kiss and kept her close. He hated how she was feeling. "We can try for another one or not, we can wait, whatever you want" Kayleigh didn't look at him she just cuddled her head into Kai chest and pulled the cover over them. Steve and Mandy left them to have some privacy and john ordered a takeaway and let Kayleigh pick the movie. They sat there for hours, neither one of them felt safe and John didn't want to let her go.
