Chapter 1: the discovery
Harry Potter was not an ordinary boy. In fact, he wasn't even human. But he didn't know that. Yet.
On the morning of Harry's 18th birthday, he woke up feeling... strange. Not sick exactly, just like something wasn't quite the same as when he went to bed. Shrugging it off, he went to the bathroom.
He went to brush his hair when he saw his reflection in the mirror. "What the...?!" He exclaimed, looking in the mirror.
His hair wasn't sticking up in the back like it usually was. In fact, it was lying quite flat. 'What's going on?' he wondered. After thinking for a moment, he decided to write to Remus.
'Dear Remus,
How are you? I'm a bit confused at the moment. I woke up feeling strange, and when I looked in the mirror, I looked different. I was paler, my hair was lying flat, my eyes were bigger, and my ears were slightly pointed. I have no idea what's going on. Please write back soon.

Feeling satisfied with himself, Harry rolled up his parchment and tied it to his snowy owl, Hedwig. Then, he went downstairs to make breakfast.
A/N: hi again. Sorry, I know this is a short chapter. I'm not sure when I'll be able to update again, 'cuz I live with my mom and I'm not allowed to use the computer at her house.
