Hey everybody, this is the second fanfic that I have posted here. I got some positive reviews for the last story and I'm grateful for them. This story is darker but doesn't describe anything gross so it should be okay with a 'T' rating.

I slammed my fist into the wall, denting the anti-ghost, metallic alloy significantly.

Calm down, Masters, it won't do for a person such as yourself to lose your temper so easily.

No, this wasn't easy. I stared down at the ectoplasmic remains of the clone that had melted only seconds ago. I had gotten so close too. This one had been so disturbingly close to the original Daniel that when it had made small noises, sighs and whispers mostly, I had almost expected Daniel to be behind me when I turned.

Why did I continue to get so close to succeeding only to fail horribly at what seemed like the last moment? Though this had truly been the last moment for the late clone before me.

I set the computer to examine the clones' remains for fault.

Did I need a team to consult? No, that was far too many loose ends. Besides, no one had even thought of attempting to create ghost-hybrid clones like the one that I was attempting to create. Nix that, nobody had even thought that ghost-hybrids were possible yet alone that there were two such beings living in relatively close distance to each other. There was also the fact that the rest of the scientific community had only just realized that each ghost had their own unique ecto-signature and only Maddie had been clever enough to encode a ghosts signature into a weapon. No other had even seen fit to attempt to clone a ghosts' ecto-signature and what reason did they have? Most in my field were either into it for the theory or they were ghost hunters. I was the only one with the reason, resources, and ability to do so, and I had accomplished such a feat. Stable or no, I had cloned an ecto-signature. Who needed a team when I had gotten so far on my own? Especially when any team that I would hire would, more likely than not, have not a single clue as to what they were dealing with.

I needed to go over every scrap of data on the clones. I must find my flaw, and I was the only one to do it

So far I had been building an ectoplasmically based clone then attempting to stabilize it with a cloned sample of human tissue. The problems lay with the fact that the cloned ectoplasm was voracious. It ate through the human tissue sample at a rapid rate causing the clone to become increasingly unstable until the clone essentially devoured itself. I had been varying the human tissue and ectoplasm ratios in hopes that I find a stable blend of the two. So far I had been largely unsuccessful.

Wait, I was doing this all backwards! Daniel had been born a human until recently when ectoplasm had been introduced into his system and bonded with his very DNA making him a ghost-human hybrid. He was also the most stable hybrid yet created as he did not seem to suffer my own ectoplasmically based ailments. What I was getting at was that Daniel was first a human, then a ghost.

I chuckled happily at my intellectual triumph. In order to create my perfect clone, my perfect son, I would first need a body. A very human body….

Creepy, no? Sorry if it is so short, as it's only a drabble. I had this idea one day while I was daydreaming in science class and got to wondering why Vlad always made the clones out of ectoplasmic goop. I mean seriously Fruitloop, if you're going to make a decent Danny-clone you gotta start from scratch.

Please read and review. I enjoy reading all of your responses and getting the email notice that someone had favorite my story. Those little things always brighten my day and encourage me to write more.
