She couldn't do it. How could he honestly expect her to shoot him, what with Gitano's gun aimed directly at the back of her partner's head? He has kids for Christ's sake. A wife, and beautiful children that rely on her to bring him home safe every day. She couldn't fail today. He has to see his children graduate, get married, and have many beautiful little grandbabies. He has to realize that he's in love with her.
"Okay! Okay," she complies. She lowers her weapon to the musty, damp floor and kicks it away from her, ignoring Elliot's desperate cries for her to do the opposite. Her pulse quickens; she hates being without her weapon.
"So quick to agree, Detective. I would have figured a fight to the death, whether it be mine, yours, or his. Not feeling lucky today, Olivia? Or are you less inclined to play Russian Roulette when it's his life on the line?"
His grip on Elliot tightens and he forces the barrel of the gun harder against the back of his head. Gitano catches her eye and she suddenly realizes that this man, this criminal whom she has known for less than 3 entire days, knows her darkest secret. He knows that she is in love with her partner, and he fully intends to make her suffer.
Somehow she knows that one of them will die tonight, and she highly doubts Gitano will be first to go.
