This fanfic is dedicated to a user on the Soap Central forums who goes by Missie76. She kind of inspired me with this idea. Basically, Will's ghost shows up and kicks Paul out of the apartment.

Enjoy!

Sonny opened the door and was surprised to see Paul.

"I'm sorry." Paul whispered.

Sonny swallowed. "What are you doing here?" 'And could you have chosen a worse time?'

"I heard you were back in town, and I figured this would be the first place you'd stop." Paul replied.

"Second, actually. I went to see my parents first." Sonny turned and walked into his living room.

Paul was about to respond when Will's ghost suddenly appeared in front of him, looking pissed. "AAGH!"

Sonny whirled around and his mouth dropped open in shock as he saw the ghost of his husband. "Will?"

"Really, Paul?" Will asked, irritated. "Could you be more pathetically tasteless? Stalking your ex before his husband is even in the ground? Seriously, not even I would do that! Come on!"

Paul was too stunned to say anything. "I…I…"

"Here's what's gonna happen: you're going to stay away from my husband until he has completely moved on, or I will haunt your ass. Got it?" Will kept glaring at him.

"Uh…um…" Paul could barely get the words out. Will simply slammed the door shut in Paul's face. "Oof!"

Sonny was still shell-shocked. "Will? Is it really you?"

Will turned to Sonny, smiled, and nodded. "Yeah, baby. It's me."

Sonny started sobbing again and slowly sat down on the couch. Will walked over to him and sat next to him. "How…?"

Will chuckled softly. "My grandmother was possessed by the devil, my aunt Cassie and uncle Rex came from outer space, and John was brain-chipped. Anything's possible here in Salem. It's kind of like Wonderland, now that I think about it."

Sonny laughed. "Will, I…I got your message. I wanted you to know that I still love you and I wanted to work things out. And I forgive you everything."

Will smiled and looked near tears. "Thank you. I'm just so sorry I didn't own up to my mistakes until too late."

"Well, you know what they say: 'better late than never'." Sonny smiled. Will chuckled again, and Sonny sobered up. "Will…are you really gone?"

Will nodded sadly. "Yeah."

Sonny wiped away tears. "Who did this to you?"

"Sonny, if I tell you, there would be nothing you could do." Will said gently. "What would you tell people? 'My husband's ghost told me who the Necktie Killer really is'?"

Sonny swallowed and nodded. "Okay, good point. I take it it's not Chad."

Will shook his head. "We were wrong. So, so wrong."

"Is it someone we know?" Sonny asked.

"Yes." Will replied. "That's all I will tell you."

"Okay." Sonny nodded. He got choked up again. "I should have taken you and Ari with me to Paris. None of this would have happened."

Will caressed Sonny's cheek. "No, it's not. Don't blame yourself, Sonny. You didn't know this was going to happen."

"Still…" Sonny shook his head. "I can't bear the thought of living without you."

"You'll learn to." Will assured him. "Sonny…I want you to be happy. That's really all I ever wanted. I'd never forgive myself if you spend the rest of your life grieving and if you never move on. You'll find someone else. Someone better."

Sonny started sobbing again. Will leaned forward and kissed him on the lips. Sonny couldn't feel it, but he remembered what it felt like. Will pulled away and put his arms around him. "I'll never say good-bye to you. Just remember, I will always be watching over you." He slowly faded away. Sonny continued sobbing, slowly walked into his bedroom and picked up Will's brown jacket. He put it on, and hugged himself, taking in Will's scent. Will was right. Sonny can't spend the rest of his life in mourning. Sooner or later, he will have to move on.

It may take a while, but, he'll move on someday. Maybe in a year or two…
