Bay of Love
On this auspicious night, the air is just right.
Springtime brings flowers, their beauty brings powers.
I hold a thornless red rose and walk with purpose 'til the close.
The close of this madness, the close of this sadness.
A girl is the reason. This Spring is the season.
I must go to her now, declare my love, keep my vow.
Today is the day, for there has been much delay.
Two years of staying hidden. Being seen seemed forbidden.
But now I see truth, true love is the proof.
If I am rejected, God forbid, though I am infected...
My face does bring fear, it has always been clear.
But today is the day. I approach the bay.
My heartbeat quickens. No! I refuse to listen!
I love her, I do! This much is true.
I need to be with her. To do this is the only cure.
It is the only way, I know I cannot delay.
The water comes closer. I have to be bolder!
Then I see it, her face. Her smile, such grace.
Her eyes gaze into mine, she is so devine.
I miss her, it's true, so much... I do.
Her porcelain face in the water, I am glad that I caught her.
Tears come to my eyes as I recall the moment she died.
She faded away on that hot summer day. Now all I can see is her face in the bay.
Today is the day, I must join her, that is all I can say.
I check the weights on my legs, I will soon join the dead.
I am ready, I have always been, now this is the end.
The world will be better, she is all that does matter.
My princess, my light, I die for you on this night.
I look to the sky with peace in my eye.
Then, with one final sigh, I jump in with no cry.
The weights carry me down, I feel myself drown.
For her, all for her, my mind is a blur.
The end is approaching, I feel my mind closing.
Goodbye world so cruel, I will not miss it, it's true.
I see my love now, surrounded by light, I've completed my vow.
I am now glad and content, I die happy, my sacrifice well spent.
We walk hand in hand. We hear music, a band.
A song playing just for us, a song filled with love, a song filled with lust.
"I love you, Christine," I whisper in her ear. She returns the words, and I realize our future is now clear.
