Why?

It was the New Year's Eve. The Potters', the Weasleys' and the Longbottom's were at 12 Grimmauld Palace. Everyone was, sort of, passed out. A tall ginger-haired man was standing outside the balcony, thinking….

A black haired, green eyed boy came outside to accompany his uncle in the very interesting job of staring the night sky.

"Uncle Ron?"

"Yes Albus?"

"Why weren't you angry when mom started dating dad? I mean, usually big brothers are angry when their best friends start dating their sister, but you weren't. Why?" the 16 year old Albus Severus Potter asked his favourite uncle….

Ron thought for a moment. He somehow knew that this question was gonna come up some day. Interesting, living with Hermione made him quite smart these days…

"Why do you ask?" he asked.

"It's kind of embarrassing," he said ruffling his quite neat black hair (unlike his father's).

"oh come on! You can tell me." Ron said patting his back.

"Well…you see I, ahh…." He babbled.

"Yes?" Ron asked raising his eyebrows.

"I'm in love with my best friend's sister" he said with a sigh.

Ron bursted out laughing.

"It's not funny!" he said

"Yes it is. You know, first all potter men fell for redheads since your grandfather's generations. Now, since you father's generation, all Potter men fell for their best friend's little sister," he said while laughing.

"Okay," Albus simply replied.

When Ron finally stopped laughing, he asked him again…

"Why weren't you angry when mom started dating dad?"

Then he got serious.

"Okay," he began. "You see Albus, Hogwarts at our time wasn't a really safe place. At least not for us, and especially for your father. He had these stupid relatives to which he had to go every summer. He had this crazy maniac or what your mother calls him, 'Flat-nosed Idiot" (Because he didn't have a nose) There was probably nothing, absolutely nothing good in his life. Especially after our fourth year"

Albus just stared.

"You see, Albus, your father wasn't the most open person in the world," he continued, "but around your mother he seemed really relaxed. I never forced him to do anything, make him to talk about his feelings like Hermione did. But your other, she was, she was something different. She wasn't a pushover like me, she wasn't a bossy know-it-all, she was just, calm. She never judged him, she never forced him, and she never left him alone. She was probably the only one in the whole world who understood him."

He still just, stared.

"When a person talks to someone, that person feels like a huge burden is off their shoulders now. And she was the only one who can get him to talk without making him angry. It was like, she had this power of silence. She did nothing, she just sat there beside him not looking at him and not talking to him and he eventually ended up crying on her shoulder."

"I care about my best friend Al, I could do anything to make him feel relaxed, to make him feel happy. And if dating my little sister makes him happy which by the way makes my sister happy too, so be it"

Albus still, just, stared.

"So that's it buddy, go to sleep." He finally said.

"Thanks Uncle Ron."

"Anytime buddy, anytime"

Both uncle and nephew stood there, staring at sky with smiles of satisfaction on their faces.

Standing in the door way Harry Potter thought…

I wonder what have I done in my last life too gain a friend like this…
