Another Vincent story. :) This one is written for a friends birthday! It's a little late, but I wanted to make sure it was amazing. :) She loves Vincent a lot so it was easy to know what I wanted to write. :)
Sorry it's not very long, but I felt that it was perfect how it was. :)
Happy birthday Vincent! :D
Love, your brother Gil

Vincent stared at the old grandfather clock in his room, the hands seeming to move slower the longer he stared at it. The clock read ten minutes until midnight, barely visible by the moonlight that slipped through the window. In ten minutes, Vincent would be eight years old.
But Vincent wasn't staring at the clock with excitement.
Gilbert and Vincent had been living in their new home for two weeks now. Both boys were grateful for everything that they were given, but Vincent always hide his true feelings. With each passing day he saw less and less of his brother. He was sure his brother was starting to forget about him.
Vincent stared at the clock, wishing for it to stop. He didn't want to celebrate his birthday. Gilbert wasn't going to be there for him. He was going to be alone all day on his birthday. No one else but Gilbert knew that he was turning eight tomorrow. If his birthday never came, he wouldn't have to admit he's lost his brother to this new family.
The clock struck midnight, the chimes ringing through his room. Vincent counted with each chime, hoping that the final one wouldn't come. Ten. Eleven. Twelve. The room fell silent as the last chime finished echoing through the room. Vincent pulled his knees to his chest, dropping his chin into his arms. He was eight and he was going to be alone forever.
A soft knock came from the door followed by the door being opened up a few inches. "Vincent?" Gilbert peered around the corner of the door. "You still awake?" Vincent lifted his head, barely able to make a noise to let Gilbert know he was awake. Quietly, Gilbert slipped into the room and closed the door behind him.
"Gilbert...What are you doing?" Vincent asked, trying to steady his voice the best he could. He couldn't let Gilbert see him upset. He wouldn't allow himself. Gilbert crossed the room and climbed onto the oversize bed next to Vincent.
"What do you mean? It's your birthday. What else would I be doing?" Gilbert pulled a small package out from behind him, handing it to Vincent. "The maids helped me get this for you. It's not much, but I still hope you like it."
Vincent took the present, holding it in his hands for a minute. "Well, aren't you going to open it?" Gilbert asked, smiling brightly at his brother. Vincent turned to him, forcing the tears back even though he wanted to cry.
Tossing the small package aside, Vincent wrapped his arms around Gilbert's waist. "I already got what I wanted for my birthday, Gil." Vincent said softly, gripping his brothers night shirt even tighter. "I got to see you."
"Of course you got to. I wouldn't leave you alone on your birthday. I wont ever leave you alone, Vincent."
Hope you loved it! Especially you Vincent! ~Nightray Raven
