To The Bitter End
"How can I ever forgive you," Luna angrily cried.
"I know that my behavior last night was unforgivable," Draco quietly began, "but I had to-"
"No! You didn't have to do anything," Luna hysterically retorted.
"You are the best thing that has ever happened to me," Draco fiercely replied.
"The best thing that has ever happened to you," Luna sarcastically replied, "you sure treated me real well, last night!"
"I didn't come here to yell at you," Draco angrily declared.
"You should have stayed far, far away from me," Luna tearfully replied.
"Is that what you would still prefer," Draco carefully asked her.
He hoped that she would tell him no.
"All that we were together is gone," Luna firmly told him.
"Will that ever change," Draco hopefully asked her.
For a moment, Luna hesitated before firmly clarifying, "What we had together is dead."
"Can I stay until the snow is cleared," he craftily asked her.
A little more time could sway things to his favor. Draco despised the thought of permanently losing Luna, even though her insanity was steadily growing.
"No," she firmly told him, "You are a wizard! I want you to leave me alone!"
"I don't have my wand," Draco lied, "I can't apparate without my wand!"
"What happened to your wand!"
"I truly don't remember," he sheepishly lied to her.
He carefully watched Luna as she angrily huffed, and stomped one of her dainty feet against the marble flooring.
"Last night, you had let the Nargles bother me," Luna whined.
"I know, Darling. I know," he complacently replied, "I am truly sorry that I hadn't rescued you from the Nargles but I hadn't noticed that you were troubled by them!"
"Otherwise you would have rescued me, right," Luna pleadingly asked him.
"I would have," he firmly told her.
"I guess that I can forgive you," Luna hesitantly replied.
"Good. Good," Draco happily repeated.
For a little while longer, his romantic relationship with Luna was in no immediate danger.
"Can I come to bed," he begged,
She owlishly watched him for a moment before happily replying, "You can."
He sighed in relief once she headed back to their bedroom.
