This is a double drabble I wrote using the prompt "Reinventing the wheel".
It was supposed to be a normal drabble, of 100 words, but as usual ended up longer. I am proud to say it is an exact double drabble though, landing in at 200 words.
Also, it is my first attempt at a fluffy Kataang ficlet - which amuses me greatly, as I am, in fact, a shipper of Zutara! But still, I hope I did the cuteness of this pairing justice for all you Kataangers out there!
Please enjoy!

Reinvention

"What are you doing, Aang?"

The Avatar was busy scribbling away on a large sheet of parchment, his tongue sticking out of the corner of his mouth in concentration.
His fiancée, Katara, watched him for a moment in amusement before padding over and putting her hand on his hunched over shoulders. He instantly relaxed and turned to loom up at her with his large grey eyes.

"Katara…" He beamed his radiant, child-like smile. It always amazed her how youthful the 119 year old looked when in a good mood.

"I said, "What are you doing?"" She repeated, arching her eyebrow and crossing her arms in mock annoyance.

"Oh." He turned away sheepishly. "Just designing something I can use to travel when Appa gets tired." He brushed his pencil from the parchment to give her a better view.

She peered over at the crude drawing of a cart with swirly wheels and various annotations in a messy scrawl. "It's a cart moved by airbending!" He explained, looking up at her hopefully.

'So all this time he had been cooped up in here reinventing the wheel!' she thought, a little relieved. She kissed his tattooed head softly and they exchanged pleased smiles.
