This was the worst assignment I've ever done I mean really I have to kill 5 little girls, what is so special about these girls that Caltari hired me to kill them. Looking at my list I picked a girl named Sapphire to kill first. I unsheathed my claws and cut a hole in the air in front of me then went through. On the other side was an alley, it was raining so I climbed the wall on my right and waited. After awhile a girl came running down the alley, huddled against the wall, and cried, easy target. I crept silently down the wall until I was within touching distance of the girl then I stopped.
"Why Nexal, why did you leave me?" she said in barely a murmur.
Nexal?! She knew the avian assassin! And then I smelled a protection charm, the work of a guardian, Senjinn no doubt. After a little while of listening to her crying I said somethingblowing my cover.
"Why are you so sad child?" I said in my nicest voice. She jumped up and starred at me.
"Who are you?" she said her voice full of fear.
"I am Vec'nama the assassin. I've been hired to kill you, but I won't." I said coming of the wall standing my full height. "But only for two reasons, the protection ward, and that you know Nexal."
"You know Nexal too!" she said hope filling her eyes. "Can I go to him?"
"No."
"Then why are you telling me this." She sat against the wall again, tears filling her eyes. "I'll never see him again, will I?" Then she started to mumble to herself. "Why can't we be together?"
Unsheathing my claws I cut a hole in the fabric of space again this time leading to the golden library where I knew where Nexal was most likely at. "on the other side of this portal I Kivia, Mine and Nexal's home. Although you could never be together you could at least ask him why a pretty girl like you is second in line to a job in death."
"Wait, a job in death?" the girl asked.
"He's an assassin too. That's why I know him." I said hoping not to go further into the matter.
"Can I come back afterward?"
I took a claw and broke it off my hand instantly it was replaced. "Take this and you can." After the girl went through the portal I took the list and ripped it up no way was I going to mess with Nexal AND Senjinn. Opening a portal home I laughed maybe I should find another profession in which I don't have to kill little girls for some weakling excuse for a Kaldar
