THE BEGINNINGS OF SHADOW

CHAPTER 1: THE WAYNE GALA

BRIANNA'S POV

This is the most boring event of my life. Bruce Wayne(CEO of Wayne Enterprises), had just finished his speech and had stepped down from the stage. I was looking at my phone trying to find an interesting story or comic to read online... there was absolutely nothing interesting to do. My ADHD was starting to take effect and I was trying to get my mom's attention from on the completely other side of the ballroom. My dress was starting to really itch and the more I thought about the worse it became.

That's when I noticed something odd in the window up near me, there was a thing hidden in the shadows. A monster I thought as I crept my way towards it blending into the shadows as I got closer to it. I guess that being the only daughter of the Primordial being Chaos was not going to work for one night, I mean my dad created everything so why does EVERYTHING hate me? honestly I might have continued my complaining if I hadn't been intercepted by one of the Wayne boys. I believe it was Damian Wayne the youngest(and shortest) Wayne kid. He came up to me right as I was about to make a perfect escape to the monster that was clearly there for me.

"Hello, I believe we have not met before, the name's Wayne, Damian Wayne" he extended his hand out to me and I took it. We shook hands and it seemed like he was analyzing me like a futuristic scanner. While he was analyzing me I took that time to analyze him as well. I started with his eyes, being a demigod I had gotten used to reading people's character with their eyes. He seemed to have seen a lot for a 13 year old, he kept a guarded expression on his face and I could see a faint hint of murderous intent lingering around his whole being.

To the normal person he would have seemed like a rather intimidating teenager. However, I am not normal, he reminded me of some of those newly claimed Ares campers that right off the bat had tried to be scary... it usually didn't work, they would still be pranked by the Stolls on multiple occasions and they would still be laughed at. Therefore, I was not intimidated. After a very long silence I realized that me and Damian were still shaking hands. Damian and I pulled our hands away and pretended that the other didn't exist for twenty seconds than we went on our separate ways this time I decided to shadow - travel outside, fight the monster, then shadow - travel back inside and act like nothing happened that was the best plan I could come up with. I'm no Annabeth but I think that's a good plan.
