'Have a good day, hunny!' Ally's mother's words ring through her head as she step into her first day at Oliver M. Hazen High School. As a transfer student in her sophomore year, she was extremely nervous to take in all of her new school. However, she new one person to help get her through her day, and she could not be more excited to see that Clarissa Mitchell, who had been Ally's best friend since the diaper age. Their moms had gone to school together and they soon decided that Clarissa and Ally should be friends, too. Little did they know, once they got the two girls together together, they'd be inseparable.
Clarissa had the body of a swimmer and was somewhat short, at 5'3. Clarissa had pixied strawberry blonde hair and lots of freckles that complimented her bright green eyes. She was not shy at all and her style definitely reflected that with the bold and unique outfits she pulled off. Ally, on the other hand, was tall, as the crown of her head came to 5'9 and a 3/4 and had a very athletic body. Her hair was elbow lenght with a slight wave and was a light brown. A light scattering of freckles across her cheeks and nose and plenty of moles covered her body. Bright blue, almost electrifying eyes graced Ally's face, allowing her to be easily recognized. She dressed fairly ornately, but was always comfortable in her clothes.
Both girls were quite fit, due to their year-round sports. Clarissa was basically a fish out of water and swam for so many different teams that keeping track of them was nearly impossible and Ally could run track in her sleep and dreamed of going to the Olympics.
So, as Ally's preoccupied mind accompanied with her inability to remain on her feet, she foolishly doesn't pay attention to where she's walking and within seconds of walking through Hazen High School's doors for the first time, Ally become aquainted with the floors. Dazed, she sits up and reaches for her backpack that had, in the process, fallen from her slender shoulders.
"Oh, my god are you okay?" Two hands hesitantly reach for Ally, who still sits on the floor, before easily hoisting her up and back on to her feet. Her eyes widen to the size of the moon and her body locks up at the jolting touch of the stranger. When her eyes finally settle on his face, her mouth falls agape. The highschooler she collided with could double as "World's Sexiest Man Alive", with his tousled brown hair and subaqueous, murky green eyes, his height and build is just an added extra. His deep maroon v-neck teeshirt leaves her wanting way more than she got and his worried look for her pushes her over the ledge.
'Great,' she thinks, 'I've been here all of one minute and I already have a fucking crush.'
She realizes he's still waiting for her to answer and she nervously stutters out, "Uhh, yeah. Yeah I'm fine. Sorry."
Chuckling slightly, he extends his hand to her to which Ally gingerly accepts, as he says, "Hi, I'm Ben Mason."
"Alexandra Brooks, but you can call me Ally. I'm new here," I timidly explain my embarrassing entrance. Laughing more, he smirks and says, "I can see." The sound of his breathless laughter causes dormant butterflies to awaken and Ally's face to heat up in a matter of seconds.
Ally backs away slightly from Ben and quickly attempts to gather her wild thoughts and nervously bites her lip. Ben's mouth twitches up into a crooked half smile that should be used as a weapon, because Ally actually thinks she's become a puddle at his feet. She looks down and studies her old, dirty white Keds as her blush increases, turning her cheeks a warm pink color. Finding it necessary to ease herself out of the growing awkwardness of the conversation, Ally grabs her left elbow and shifts from foot to foot, while Ben rubbed the back of his neck and shuffled hs feet, as well.
"Well, umm, I'd better be going. Uhm sorry and uh, thanks..." she trailed off while slightly waving a rushed goodbye to the intruging boy. As she and Ben grew farther and farther apart, she began rethinking her actions and when she turned around, deciding she would ask him to show her to her class, Ben was gone; melted in with the sea of returning high schoolers as they smiled and laughed with friends they had missed during summer break. Ally had never felt like an outcast in her life, that is, until that moment. Heaving a sigh, she shook her head lightly to clear her mind and picked her chin up and smiled, determined to not let herself become 'that new kid'. Glancing at her schedule she had printed from online, she decided that the main office would be her first stop.
After chatting politely with the cheery attendance lady Ally had asked where Biology with Dr. Thomases was and had been sufficiently directed there. There she stood, an internal war raging insde her as she debated feigning an illness or opening the door and jumping feet first into a new school year at a new school.
"Uhm, excuse me," a boy pushed past her and yanked open the door, leaving Ally no choice but to follow. She looked desprately for Clarissa, since the night before they had concurred that they had Biology first period and French sixth period together. When her eyes landed on the small redhead, she sighed in relief at the sight of Clarissa's backpack saving Ally a seat next to her. Ally walked up to Dr. Thomases and quitely introduced herself and collected the syllabus and lab books that were provided for her. Walking towards her desk in the back of the room, a giddy smile spreads on Ally's face. Clarissa looks up, grins right back and hops up, squealing like a little girl at a fair as she and Ally rush towards one another and hug.
"I missed you so much! This year is going to be amazing! I already got us a locker and I'll give you the combination in a second; it's actually really easy, thankfully! I can't wait to introduce you to all my friends, they're going to love you!" Clarissa babbles excitedly as she and Ally take their seats, turned towards each other. Laughing, Ally easily absorbs all the given information from Clarissa, seeing as she'd practiced understanding her constant flow of words for over 15 years.
"Slow down, crazy! It's hard enough to understand you when you're not hyped up," Ally giggled, really just wanting to ask about a certain Ben Mason.
"Hey, do you know a guy-" Ally began, but was cut-off by a tapping on her shoulder.
"Umm, hi. Are you my new lab partner?" she was asked by an oddly familiar voice, though she couldn't place it. Upon turning around, her blush instantly returns and she gapes for a moment, like a fish out of water. Ben Mason, the very same boy she haa gotten a crush on, was to be her lab partner in biology for the rest of the year.
Author's Note: Alrighty, guys. So I'm trying something new, and am taking each of the chapters I've already posted, and editing them. Some of the mistakes in these chapters were killing me. Plus, there's new idea and different information I wanted to add. I have no clue how often I'll be able to edit and repost chapters, so don't expect a very strict schedule. Also, I decide to change the perspective, so it's now third person omnipresent, but the other chapters will still be in Ally's perspective until I can change them. *This is how Ally and Ben meet.*
