Disclaimer: I do not own Bones! All rights, characters, etc. belong to HH, FOX, and Kathy Reichs.
The only this I own is this story, that came from my own head. ;)
Okay, so I'm new to this. And, I really want B&B to be together; but, I do know that A LOT of things have to happen before they can be together. *sigh* But, this would just be something sweet that could happen. :) Read & Review. PLEASE, don't be harsh on me. This is my first fanfic. It's just a one-shot. Enjoy! :)
It was just an ordinary day. She was working, and he was working. She was busy with the bones while he was busy trying not to stare at her too long.
"Bones," Agent Seeley Booth whispered to Dr. Temperance Brennan. They were in Limbo, or bone storage. Bones was leaning over an examining table looking at an ancient humerus.
"Yes, Booth," Temperance answered, not looking up.
"Guess what time it is," Booth smiled.
She looked over at her wrist watch, "12:30 PM."
"No," Booth smiled, "well…yes, but, what I meant is that it's lunch time!"
"I suppose you have plans with Hannah?" Temperance sighed, annoyed.
Booth was confused, "What? No."
Temperance looked up at him from the humerus, "Then what?"
"We have lunch plans," Booth explained, "Did you forget?"
"Oh," Temperance thought, "OH, yes, I guess I did. Just let me grab my things and I'll meet you in the garage. I'll only be a few minutes."
"Okay," Booth smiled and headed for his SUV.
AT THE DINER
"So, why didn't Hannah join us this afternoon," Bones asked as she bit into a French fry.
Booth suddenly found his apple pie extremely interesting as he replied, "No reason."
"Booth…" Bones couldn't tell people's emotions easily, but, on rare occasions, she could tell when Booth was hiding something from her. Right now was one of those occasions.
Booth sighed, and looked up into Temperance's oceanic eyes, "We broke up."
Her eyes grew even wider, "I'm so sorry. I believe the saying is, 'There are plenty of fish in the sea.'"
Booth smirked, "It's okay, Bones, I don't want a fish," then muttered, "I want you."
"What was that second part, Booth," she asked, "I didn't hear you."
"I said, I don't want a fish, I want…" he paused and took a deep breath, "I want you."
Her eyes widened a small fraction, once more, and then she whispered, "I want you too."
He looked up at her, startled, "Really?"
"Really," she smiled shyly. Booth knew she wasn't lying because, Bones, his Bones, was never a shy woman, and his Bones never blushed.
"Good," he smiled, taking a bite of his pie.
"Good," she nodded back, "So, does this mean…"
"Yes," Booth nodded with great conviction.
"Then," Temperance smiled, "I would like to kiss you."
"I would like to kiss you too," Booth smiled back.
He stood up, walked around the table, and sat next to her. Then, he took her face in his hands and kissed her sweetly.
Booth leaned his forehead against hers, "This is the beginning."
Temperance kissed him once more, "The start of 30, or 40, or 50 years."
"I love you," they both said at the same time, and smiled at each other.
