Chapter 1: Training
The thunder crashed as two warriors clashed again and again. The rain made it hard to gain footing in the slick mud but that did not stop them from rushing at each other again and again. Each one was thinking the same thought… they must be the on that must win.
Slowly they circled each other. Both of them were bruised and bloodied, their army streaking with blood and mud. They panted from the exertion. Neither of them wanted to show it…but they were tired and had only enough strength for one…more…attack…
They pulled their swords back and rushed at each other, a battle cry issuing forth from their mouths….
"Come on Khantil…you're not hitting hard enough! Swing harder!" called out a voice in a grassy clearing.
Khantil swung the wooden sword down as hard as he could, barely missing his opponent. Khantil growled.
"How bout this Ace…how bout you quit jumping around like a fucking idiot and take your beating like a man!"
Ace merely grinned at Khantil his wooden sword over his shoulder.
"Well if you didn't focus so much on your power and more on your speed you might hit me!"
Khantil grinned a mischievous grin.
"Ace…face it. You're not a ninja! You'll never be one either!"
Ace's eyes narrowed a little. "You motherfucker!"
Ace charged at Khantil his wooden sword drawn back for a quick finishing blow. Just as Ace's hand swung forward Khantil swung down with as much force as he could slamming his wooden sword into Ace's forcing the sword down to the ground. Ace merely grinned and twisted his body around, slamming his feet into Khantil's chest. Khantil fell back to the ground with a loud thud.
"Damn you Ace!"
Ace merely laughed and gave Khantil the thumbs up sign.
"I see your training is going well." A voice remarked.
Khantil sat up on his elbows and looked over his shoulder.
"What do you want Xavier?" he asked a little annoyed at his loss to Ace.
"We have been summoned to the temple." Xavier said.
"To the temple? Why there?" asked Ace.
Xavier shrugged. "I'm not sure. But the priestess said it was important."
Khantil and Ace looked at each other and nodded. They quickly stood and followed Xavier to the temple.
