A/N: What I think the PoTC crew dream of...

DISCLAIMER: Pirates of the Caribbean and its characters don't belong to me.

& & &

WILL

When Will dreams, he dreams of gold and treasures and bounty and swag. He dreams of dishonest life and selfish life. He dreams of Bootstrap's bootstraps, and crushing black oblivions. Sometimes Will dreams of angel skin, soft under corsets that must be undone with nimble fingers shaking with impatience, but sometimes Will dreams of angel skin that is not soft and instead rough from sea salt and a hard life and tattoos of birds against suns.

ELIZABETH

When Elizabeth dreams, she dreams of freedom and plans and ideas. She dreams of swordfights and etiquette lessons, three cornered hats and parasols. She dreams of opposing viewpoints and a life she left behind. Sometimes Elizabeth dreams of her wedding day and cries, but sometimes she dreams of being wed to someone other then Will and that makes her cry even harder.

JAMES

When James dreams, he dreams of shining badges and stiff uniforms and dirtied wigs and soiled reputations. He dreams of goals within his grasp and second chances. He dreams of the wife he could have had and the blacksmith that had her instead. Sometimes James dreams of starting over but sometimes he dreams of marks and chests and beating hearts and wishes he had Jack's compass because he's never really sure what he wants anymore.

COTTON

When Cotton dreams, he dreams of talons and wings and beaks and tails. He dreams of multicoloured feathers covering the sky and nothing but the sound of flapping wings. He dreams of bursting through clouds and soaring above water. Sometimes Cotton dreams of singing, of opening his mouth and warbling sweeter then a mockingbird but sometimes he wakes up with his mouth half open and Parrot besides him, dreaming the same dreams as him only easier to reach.

GIBBS

When Gibbs dreams, he dreams of regret and mistakes and crimes and punishment. He dreams of empty rum bottles and disappointed officers and choices that men shouldn't have to make. Sometimes Gibbs dreams of reality, of fighting the kraken and blowing up the rum but sometimes Gibbs doesn't mind at all that the rum is gone when he dreams of the injured kraken tentacles waving in the breeze.

ANAMARIA

When Anamaria dreams, she dreams of ships and masts and sails and riggings. She dreams of her father the boat maker and she dreams of his calloused hands. She dreams of his lessons down at the dock, of his gentle instructions. Sometimes Anamaria wakes up screaming when she dreams of the pirates who killed her father, but sometimes she is soothed by dreams of the man with gold in his hair and his smile and his charm who borrowed her boat and never returned.

PINTEL

When Pintel dreams, he dreams of dogs and keys and cells and Ragetti. He dreams of desperation and the gallows drawing near. He dreams of wheedling and coaxing and whistling to a dog with keys in his mouth. He dreams of well earned relief and the jangle of keys in a lock. Sometimes Pintel dreams of giving up piracy but sometimes the dreams of hanging nooses are worse then the dreams of the guilt.

RAGETTI

When Ragetti dreams, he dreams of blue eyeballs and books and wooden horses and petticoats. He dreams of reading and learning things pirates shouldn't learn. He dreams of getting a glass eye and spending his treasure, and pretty girls in corsets. Sometimes Ragetti dreams of changing but sometimes his dreams leave him wondering and more confused then he was before.

JACK

When Jack dreams, he dreams of the sea, and the Pearl and pirates and Aztec gold he never kept. He dreams of swimming, of bathing, of splashing and he dreams of sailing forever and ever on a rough expanse of water. Sometimes Jack dreams and cannot tell that he is asleep because he always dreams of what he wants, but sometimes Jack has to wake from his dream clutching his compass to decide between the open ocean or a girl with blonde curls in boy's clothing.
