Not Easily Swayed
Kaa, the snake, groaned as his stomach continued to rumble. He had eaten two days ago, but the small deer he eaten wasn't lasting long to satisfy. He flicked his tongue out and his eyes narrowed as a new scent was in the air. This scent was familiar. Where had he smelled this before? He then heard voices and the sound of panting. He poked his head down and saw Bagheera the panther, Baloo the bear, and that girl-cub Mari. Kaa's eyes widened as a spiral let loose and he smacked his lips with a devious grin curling up on his face. He knew now what he was smelling.
"Ah, the girl-cub. It's been a long time since I've seen her…I better say hello. Just need to wait for those two to be gone."
Kaa watched as Mari slumped against the tree trunk. Ready for an opportunity to come forth for him.
"Enough of this. I'm too old to be running around like this."
"Like it's my fault those furballs decided to come after me, again?" Mari said sarcastically, catching her breath.
"That's beside the point, Mari," Bagheera said, "Its time you head back to the village."
Mari slouched a bit as Bagheera said she had to go back. She was hoping to stay a little longer. The village had been fine for her since she had been adopted by a new family, but she still missed her times here in the jungle. She had come out to visit her friends, getting permission from her new mother, and the day had gone crazy! As soon as she and Bagheera and Baloo were having fun, a bunch of monkeys from King Louie's place decided to grab her. They dragged her back to the ancient ruins, and threw her in a pit where she couldn't get out. Bagheera and Baloo saved her, but it was heck of a time getting out of that place.
Mari watched as Baloo and Bagheera kept arguing, not realizing someone else had seen her. A tail slowly went down the trunk, hiding behind her back. It trailed upwards and before she knew it, it went around her mouth, cutting off her ability to speak. Mari didn't have time to do anything as a set of coils looped around her chest, tightened and hoisted her up. Mari struggled as she was brought up into the high branches of the canopy, until she heard a slithery laugh. Her eyes narrowed in annoyance. She knew who it was. Kaa came out of the bushes and smirked at her, till he turned his attention to the ground where Bagheera and Baloo just noticed she was gone.
"Doh! Baloo she's run away. Come on." Bagheera running off in the opposite direction they came in. Baloo following him.
Kaa smirked as they ran away and looked back at his quarry. Mari continued struggling violently. She was cursing under her breath. Kaa had a wicked grin as he moved his coils and Mari was thrown out of them, landing hard on a branch. Kaa immediately slithered under the brush and came up. Coming from behind and tried to get in the girls face. Mari felt the hairs on her skin go up and shoved him away hard before he could try anything. Man, she hated him.
"Back off worm." She snapped at him, sounding very angry. But the python was not fazed. He looked ready to laugh at her. "Still the fiery spirit. This should be fun." He thought.
"Isssss that any way to treat an old friend?" He said, trying to come near her. Looping his tail around her shoulders.
"I'm no friend of yours bub."
Mari ducked under the coils and leapt to a branch, catching Kaa off guard. His tail went out and caught her by her arm and yanked her back where Mari started falling. As she did, Kaa went under her and she ended up landing on his neck, giving him an opportunity. Kaa immediately bucked his neck, making Mari go back a bit. He looped himself around her abdomen and up. His coils got thicker as he coiled himself around her almost fully. Her legs dangling in space. Kaa decided to place himself on her shoulder. Leaning forward so he could look at her.
"There'ssss no reassssson for you to get ssso angry you know." He chuckled, making Mari snarl a bit. His tail went up and started rubbing the top of her head. Kaa started talking again,
"I can see you don't' want to go back to the village. You don't have to go back."
Kaa made the mistake of having his face so close to her. Because Mari thrusted forward and headbutted him. Kaa yelped and she was free. She landed daintily on the branch and started to run, but she didn't make it far. Mari dodged but Kaa had a surprise for her.
"Ohh, why that little…" He hissed angrily. "She issss sssso sssstubborn."
Kaa dove under from site.
Mari noticed Kaa wasn't coming after her and stopped.
"Ok, that was almost too easy." She said out loud.
While her back was turned, Kaa slowly came up and made his move. His tail went forward and slowly went for her leg. It barely touched her, till in one movement, it circled up to her ankle and pulled out from underneath. Mari screamed at the sudden movement and found herself upside down. She didn't have time to fight back as Kaa put himself right in front of her and spirals came. Mari tried to look away, but one eye was already producing them. Kaa used his tail to bring the girl closer to where they were nose to nose with each other. That was all he needed as he produced faster rings.
"OH crud! Not again!" She was thinking. Her will starting to slowly slip away. But… one little voice in the back of her head said, "You can fight this, just make it look like he's won."
Mari went with it and gave him a small goofy looking smile. Kaa felt himself getting happy as she looked lost in his eyes. He let one set of coils like a hammock and placed her on it. Rocking her back and forth as she closed her eyes. Mari did whatever she could to not smirk.
"You'll be in for a nasty surprise soon wormy." She thought.
Kaa switched his coils around and started to wrap them around her, keeping her from jolting. He knew that she was not easy to submit to him, and didn't want the chance to awake her. Just as Kaa started to position her, he opened his mouth, ready to bring her forth. Mari felt his breath coming and managed to move enough to jostle herself back to reality with whatever she had left. Her eyes opened, spirals gone and in one swift movement, she leaned forward, got her arm free and punched Kaa right in his left eye.
"Not today Kaa!"
Kaa went backwards, dropping Mari, who fell out and grabbed the low hanging branch and went to the ground and started to run. She didn't have to go far as she literally ran into Baloo.
"Mari." Bagheera said.
Mari got up and said, "Let's head back to the village."
Bagheera raised an eyebrow, "What changed your mind?"
"Long story, let's just go."
The tone of her voice was enough to get both her friends worried and they complied as she got on Bagheeras back and ran for the man-village.
Kaa, on the other hand, still in the trees was groaning, a black eye was already forming. Shaking his head, he glared out at the horizon of where she had gone.
"One day girl-cub…One day you will be in my stomach."
