Gentleman Winter has been banished

The hog of the ground waves him away

He's packed up his belongings and children

Snow, Flakes, Ice, and Cold, all leave

Gentlewoman Spring

In her orchid-laden dress

Flaps her regal hand at us

While strutting through our town

People all around me

Grow hoarse from cheering

For Gentlewoman Spring is finally here

But I know the truth

Spring goes about her work

Breathing life in the dead

Leaves, trees, and flowers

While leaving tombstones to rot

Gentlewoman Spring

Has a courtier at her door

Mr. Summer has come

Now is the true test

The Sun becomes brighter

Kills all the plants and animals

In its fury

Mr. Summer is too busy to care

Gentlewoman Spring seethes with rage

She abandons Summer

Abandons us

Finally, Winter, with his children in tow

Rushes behind Fall

And stands before Summer

In all his majesty

They turn the tables

On Summer and Spring

And banish them into exile

While people cheer again

And so the cycle

Continues on

Day and Night, Day and Night

And I know the truth
