Prologue to Darkness
~
The darkness grew as the light faded. It would soon be their turn.
Their newest enemy was strong; maybe too strong. They didn't know, but as their luck went, they'd find out soon. That was the luck of the Senshi.
The sunset went from blue, to purple, to pink and then to orange. The darkness would soon be upon them.
And so it came.
The quartet prepared themselves. They'd be called on at any moment to serve with the Queen and her court. Any moment.
They were trained for things like this, and they learned to use the darkness as a part of themselves, as if it were a part of their magic. Maybe it was, but no one would ever be sure.
At any moment….
In the distance, they heard screams. Piercing, high-pitched screams filled the air around them. It stopped, though, about a suddenly as it had began.
Maybe at this moment…
The dark bushes around them rustled. It was then that they knew something was horribly wrong, but there was nothing they could do.
All four backed up to each other's backs, watching their own deaths leap out at them as if they were the mice, and it was the owl.
Then the silence of the cold night elapsed over the area in which the four had once been, and whom would most likely never see that world of theirs again…

A dream elf watched as this happened. His girls hadn't even fought. No matter, they'd be back, sometime. He could only hope that it would be soon, or both worlds he existed in would be destroyed.
And so he watched, and waited…
