When Sam finally noticed he knew it was serious. He didn't usually noticed things, he knew he was oblivious. He remembered when he first noticed the looks Dean and Castiel gave each other. It was just an average day. They were hunting a vengeful ghost that kills anyone steps onto the surrounding garden of a house. They had been sitting in a crappy hotel room which had two beds; Cas didn't sleep there. There was also a small table with four chairs a bathroom and a small kitchenette. Sam had been on his laptop researching the house and if any murders had been committed in or around the house. While Sam had been sitting at the table Dean and Castiel were on a bed each surrounded by books about the house and town. Sam had just glanced at the clock which said it was one in the morning before looking at Dean. He then realized Dean had been reading the same page for over half an hour. Sam also noticed Dean wasn't even reading the book. Dean's eyes were focused on Castiel. At first he didn't think it was strange they were friends. Then he recognised the look in Dean's eyes. It was the look he saw in happy couples in parks and restaurants. It was love. He was so shocked he just sat there and gaped at his brother. Dean was gay? He didn't mind that he was just surprised, especially with how many girlfriends dean has had. Then he supposed Castiel isn't technically a man that was just his vessel. He was multidimensional wavelength of celestial intent. Sam sat still staring at them until Castiel looked up at dean. Dean blushed. He actually blushed. Sam had never seen Dean blush before in his life. He hadn't even blushed during the 'pudding incident' which Sam now calls it. Dean looked back at the book and tried to pretend he hadn't been staring intently at Castiel. Sam saw something in Castiel's eyes. Was it hope? He couldn't tell, it was gone as quickly as it came. Damn those non-emotional angels and their ability to hide their feelings. Sam hoped for deans sake it was. They would make a cute couple. He knew he used to try to persuade Dean to live an apple pie life. Sam now knew Dean couldn't. Dean was a hunter. You can't just stop being a hunter you can try but something will always finds you in the end, and anyway Dean was raised a hunter from the age of four. It was hard wired into his brain, he couldn't just forget everything. Castiel was good for Dean. He helped to hunt sometimes so Dean didn't have to stop. Castiel needed Dean just as much as Dean needed Castiel. He would just have to hope they admitted their feelings sooner than later.
