disclaimer: these characters are not mine.
asdfjglfdl i finally wrote more ponds. it's probably bad but whatever,
pardon my americanisms.
Amelia had just moved there, and Rory was just shy. She approached him with a six-year-old's sense of cold hard logic: "Neither of us have friends, so I think we should be friends. I'm Amelia."
He smiles at her and nods and replies with a quiet "I know. Hi, my name is Rory," and then the friendship is set in stone.
The Raggedy Doctor is brought up into existence about three years after the friendship is formed- Amelia's aunt keeps going out at night and Rory's parents are fighting more than ever. They both feel very lonely, so the Doctor is a good way to escape, and they both always play it. Rory helps paint Amelia's dolls and boxes.
Mels comes along a year after the Doctor- and by a year, that is exactly one year. But they didn't meet her until three days later. Amelia likes her immediately. Rory is okay with her, but he is a bit jealous. Mels apparently feels the same, and she teases Rory mercilessly, although he soon learns that teasing mercilessly is just how Mels tells Rory that they are friends.
Rory realizes that he fancies Amelia when he's eleven, and he doesn't know why. It just hits him one day. He tells two people- Jeff Angelo, who has started hanging around them recently and is actually a really okay bloke, and Mels, who claims to have known since forever.
Amelia realizes she fancies Rory at fourteen, when Lucy Williams and Brian Williams divorce and Rory is sort of a mess. Amelia likes messes- she herself is called a mess. She tells absolutely no one, except her current psychiatrist, whom she bites three weeks after the case.
Amelia has her first boyfriend a month after she realizes she fancies Rory. He tells her that Rory's gay so she shouldn't bother with him. Apparently, Amelia is that obvious. Also, apparently Rory is that obvious. Mels interferes with the relationship after half a month. Said it would never work anyway- Stephen Smith was an arsehole.
Rory does not ever have a girlfriend. He does not want a girlfriend. Until the "I-thought-he-was-gay" conversation on the night of the bus-stealing, he does not consider having a girlfriend, because Amelia would turn him down. They decide to kind-of-sort-of date after the incident. It works well for the next two years.
Rory and Amy do not mention the now-I'm-Amy thing to anyone in full detail until the days they die for good. Not even Mels knew.
Prisoner Zero is scarring.
"He's gone."
"Yeah."
"He was real, and then he was gone."
That night, they decide to become real too.
He proposes a year later. She says yes after sitting there in shock for an hour and a half.
"We're young. Really young. People are gonna judge us."
"Since when has Amy Pond cared about people judging her?"
That's about the bravest thing Amy had heard Rory Williams ever say at that point.
She kisses him and he's back to himself.
okay sorry about that.
